Hey does the AU metal gasket require any sealant to be applied before fitting?

no the gaskets are coated alredy...
bolt down and go. would leave coolant out for a week or so to allow gasket to adhere correctly.

Thanks, so do you prepare the block any differently, like you stone it down but you still have a few of the factory machine marks, are they ok?

dunno about the AU gaskets but normally I spray some Hylomar on the gasket and block surface.

Ok, Ive done many headgaskets, do them at work all the time but we only ever use the standard gasket, never done an Au one so im new to the steel gasket, and they dont have any info on the pack like an aftermarket (like monotorque) one. But feeling pretty confident now, actually already fitted one two nights ago, but the head shop didnt find that there was a pin hole leak in cyl one! so i just thought id make double sure this time, no way is it coming off again! lol
