just went out and used some splitters on the sub rca's. sounds no where near as good as it did on the old cd player. WAY less volume. i am running 2 monoblocks which are running two 15's. it also seems that the louder i turn it up, the less volume the sub produce but the more the rest of the speakers produce. what can be causing this???
i tried turning the gain on the amps up but that made it worse. i thought that the sub out on the DVD player was 4v. but when i set the gain on both amps to around 4v its still sounds quiet. even more so actually. WHAT CAN I BE DOIN WRONG???

when i did mine 1 of the rca's was touchin metal and shorting, causing it to do the same thing you are describing with the volume.
also i think the pre-out voltage is always less than what is quoted in a similar way to the difference between power rms and power max. try askin some 1 on this forum http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/forums/index.php here is a tute on gain setting which i followed http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/for...l=gain+setting |

on your cross overs.
Try changing one side to either high pass freaquency (HPF) or Low pass freaquency (LPF) and change the other side to off.l This fixed the prob in my mates car.
