In my local supermarket on the notice board was this ad, and I am looking at an E series.
As my title suggests, I am mechanically illiterate so I would like the brains trust here to give me some advice. Here is the ad as it is written. I'm looking at the car tomorrow. This is up Frankston way in Melbourne. Can anyone give me some questions I may need to ask? Here is the ad: - 1992 Ford Falcon EB 2 S pack - S Pack Sports Trim Interior - Remote Central Locking with keyless entry - Alarm - Engine Immobiliser. - Electric windows - Cruise Control - Tinted windows - Air con - Power Steering - Clear XR Indicators Front and sides - Tickford badging - Lowered (Kings Springs) - Pacemaker extractors - Sports exhaust in with chrome dump pipe. - Front skirt (spoiler) - Pioneer head unit with 4 speakers (CD only) - Hayman reese heavy duty tow bar I rang him and asked him some questions. - Serviced 10-15 thousand k's ago. - No service records. - Registration due in July - No RWC but he beleives that nothing should need to be done for it. - Just over 300 thousand k's. well that's it of course it was "make an offer" which I hate cause I don't know jack. What should I offer? Cheers guys. *If I have put this post in the wrong section, I apologise.* |

With them K's and no rwc id offer him 600.
It would need a fair bit for a RWC if it hasent been regalia serviced which means it will turn in to a money pit fairly quik. As you said your not mechanically minded so your paying someone else to do the fiting as well as parts. Jump on car sales go for somthing with alot lower K's. |

Probably looking at around $2500. What is actually asking for it?

Take it to a mechanics and get a "pre-purchase mechanical check" they will go over every nook and cranny in the car and tell you what needs to be done with it, if theres anything minor or serious wrong with it etc.
Once you've done that and you know roughly what it will cost to get a RWC, you'll be in the position to make an offer. 300thou is a lot of k's though, you'll probably find looking around you'll get a better deal. Good luck.

" No RWC but he beleives that nothing should need to be done for it."
Hahaha. You'd be amazed. A 300,000 km vehicle, unless kept in very good condition, will need work for a RWC..
