Default Black plastic engine decor cover

Hello everyone!

Has anyone tried removing the black plastic engine cover? I believe its decorative only and serves no other purpose.

Tried to remove it but dun wanna break any plastic clips, so... thought of running it through you guys before mucking around any further.

Appreciate any assistance on removing it. Curious to see the detail underneath it.

=)

the black engine cover is ACTUALLY the engine intake filter as well. if you remove it i hope you have an aftermarket filter system such as a CAI and or a POD or sumthing.

personally.. the engine looks like an engine under neath.

He has a Focus/Mondeo not a Fiesta.

You should be able to take it off after you undo any retaining bolts

LS Theres no retaining screws or anything

Just pull it vertically. It has rubber/plastic ball and cup style connectors

blackLS, thanks!
If we remove the plastic cover and continue to use the car without it, will there be any issues/ improvements?

Was washing our LS yesterday and pulled the engine cover off for a look. Its not a bad looking motor under there. Think it might have to come off permanently
