You dont need a 4 point harness for 110mph, I used to run up to 125 in my XA and a 3 point was good enough for a very low 11 at that mph...

A 3 point is just the factory seatbelt, maybe the rules have changed, my ANDRA book is about 2 years old..in any case you would have to mount it from a roll cage taxi bar or the parcel shelf..

in the same boat, it's 110mph for me.

Got a 5 point harness delivered for 90 bucks - type in bf racing harness on ebay.

takes under 10 minutes to fit at the drags.

you will need a brace across the front of your seat, i made up one with a bit of angle iron and flat bar and drilled holes to use th factory bolts, as well as weldin in a 1/2" bolt in the middle of the brace. Painted up black and you can't pick it's not meant to be there.

have sorted out my harness (harness was purchased from motorsports connections sevenhills) its a 4 point dj safety i got the clip type using eye bolts. the lap lash eye bolts are in the rear seat bolt (can be removed and seat bolts replaced) i had the two eye bolts that hold the shoulder lash parts fitted by a workshop they placed them between the top and bottom of the seat (where seat belts come thru) so canot been seen vehicle past inspection at sat bracket meeting so all good the whole harness can be fitted and removed in under 5min i just hang it back out of the way

I think you'll find that ANDRA wants a 4 point harness in any car that runs an 11.

I'll dig up the rules when I get home. I got bailed up on my first 11.....don't come back without a 4 point.

Regarding the anchor points, there are rules regarding the metal they attach too. ie: you can't just drill a hole in the car sheet metal. IIRC, some points require a certain size section of 3mm steel plate behind the car sheet metal to stop the bolts pulling through in a crash.

I mounted my shoulder strap bolts onto the rear parcel shelf (which is thin metal) and I put a section of sheet metal underneath it.

Thats news to me, I was running low 11's for quite a while on a super street license and never got asked to fi a 4 point harness, or a tailshaft loop either. I always thought the loop was only a requirement if you were running crossply slicks.

You are right there Tony, if your only running at street meets you dont need harness, loop etc, just S/ST licence but if you plan on racing in S/ST at bracket meets etc you have to comply to the S/ST rules. Well that applys at WSID anyway.

Seems to vary from track to track!!

I was only running at Wed nite street meets, but still overlooked by ANDRA techs, and they made me get a S/ST licence for running 11's. Couldn't come back til I had the licence!

also goes on mph if you run over 110mph you also require a 4 point harness tail shaft loops apply mainly if you are running full slicks (dont qte me) i had a tail shaft fitted anyway. wed nights yes if you run 11s they will make you get a andra licence
i just played it safe got a andra licence a 4 point harness and a tail shaft loop and you also require a as/nz standard helmet to run s/st (but wed nights they are ok with a oz standard only) so far
