Yep...i've heard its a surprising place to visit. Plus, you can learn all about how Holden's are made. Honest...., Holden means a great deal to Korea.....

are the trasnfers etc easy to find? is it all an easy process?

Once you clear passport control & customs it is. Just head to the Korean Air counter (you should have been given a map, or will be if you booked with Flight Centre when you get your tickets) and they sort it from there.

They even parade you in a group and make you wear a sticker, very touristy!

Also make sure you don't say WTF too loudly when you see the Police walking around, I did and everyone stared at me. Police toting sub machine guns just took me by surprise.

hahaha yeh my old man went over there few years back and said its pretty hectic with the cops and the guns they carry around.....definately going to be an experience......

You will have no worries at all in in general while in Korea. Korea is a first world country, the customer service you will get at the airport will be sure to impress.

People will go out of their way to help you, as long as you keep calm and courteous.

There are no tourist traps / scams / rip-offs etc. All public transport is in English, all Taxi's run a meter.

All teenagers will have a degree of English ability, the older people not so much.

There are police toting machine guns in the airport. Once you leave the airport you will not see another gun, unless there is a protest where riot police wait in buses watching. They will only act if the protest gets out of hand (and they generally never do).

I know Korea is not the focus of your trip, but I advise you to read up a bit about the culture prior to your arrival. I have been there 5 times in the last 4 years, for work, and for my own personal business.

Another good company to use is:

www.tid.com.au (I use them when I travel with a laptop, as they have a higher 'cost per item' limit than other companies for electronics).

Keep WELL AWAY from a company called "1 Cover".. a claim for $290 took MONTHS.. which sorta made me angry when I had paid them a total of over $900 for my insurance premuim.

Read the fine print. Many companies do not cover single expensive items as they may offer a maximum limit of $500 or $750 per electronic item.

Don't use the insurance offered by your travel agent. The mark up of their premiums is beyond a joke (although, they will generally price match if you are getting it done at the time you are paying your tickets I find).

Came to $108 with a $200 excess, which I'm very pleased with

im thinking travel insurance direct for $170 odd with 0 excess will be who i book with.....cover looks pretty good.....

what does the whole "reasonable costs" mean?

I bring back 2.2litres every time I go. Have quite a collection of bottles. Will need to return some time soon, down to the hip flasks and 1/3 of a 500ml bottle lol.

$1.40 for a 500ml bottle from the supermarket, or $2.50 for a 350ml bottle at any bar. 19-21%, I describe it to my mates as 'half Vodka'

Where is this mentioned? To me it means what it means. They will cover for what is reasonable.

i seen it in few policies........Soju, i guess ill have to try it...not much of a vodka person personally, but gotta try it i guess....
