While looking for a small car for myself, I have decided to look at the LR Focus (the German built one) in detail. Unfortunately, I haven't really found any sites on the reliability of them, just various QC problems on the LS and LTs (the South African built ones). Does this mean that the LR is relatively trouble-free, or are there any issues that I can't find?
Could some owners (or former owners) give me some light on the Focus, and a price on how much I should be spending on an LX or Zetec hatch? Thank you bigdude1011 |

Just recently there was quite a bit of discussion about the LR over in this thread
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11278547 they're a fantastic little car and in the three or so years I owned mine I didn't had any problems at all. Just kept up routine maintenance and it was sweet as a nut. FYI the German built LRs consisted of all the 3 door zetecs, some of the 5 door zetec hatches and sedans (someone will need to clarify that one) and the ST170. All the lower models were built in South Africa. If you check the compliance plate on the drivers side B pillar the German cars should mention Saarlouis. Not sure what the south African build plates read though.
