way to go mate, you'll love it.

it's basically trial and error and lots of practice. your addredalin will be going off (mine still does after 2 years of racing)

if you're running street tyres, don't need to drop pressures on the rears, pump the fronts up a little bit.

ease the throttle on at the lights and enjoy the ride. :

be warned though, it's highly addictive :

let us know how you go.

You'll need an Australian standards approved helmet and a long sleaved jumper or leather jacket and something to leave all your loose items in back in the pits.
Be carefull once the bug bites your infected for life lol.

Have to make sure the car is in good nick. Tyres etc. I dont think you'll have any issues there though.

Its always nerve racking the first time but after that its all good.

Remember to follow the instuctions of the lane staff. Must have your lights on when it gets darker. Watch the 2 lights at the top of the tree when placing the car on the line.

Would be good to see some more Falcons down there.

If going with other mates that have already raced get them to run you through start line proceedure, do a walk of the start line before racing starts and familiarise your self with the area. then on your first pass have someone guide you into the beams to let u know when close to the prestage beam.

Always watch and wait for the officals to give you the go ahead before starting your burnout.

You go to the drags for enjoyment, if you enjoy burnouts do one, it shouldnt slow you down, good luck

It will slow your time if you do it for too long on street tyres so I've heard...

Most, but not all, street tyres perform worse with a burnout.

doing them at every pass will make them slippery (silica compound in tyres)

i just do a little one on my first pass, then drive through after that.

Only just enough to get the water off your tyres, a little heat in street tyres is good but get them hot and they will go slimy due to the silicon in them and as other said dont drop your tyre pressures lower than 30psi.

Not sure if I missed it but auto or manual?

It is not as easy as it looks, especially in a manual turbo. Some more practice and you will be able to beat a standard XT falcon

Was it just a test n tune? If it was, you could go 10yrs after the light goes green and it wouldnt affect the time. But at least you made me feel better about my time aswell :P Least it gives you a time you can hopefully smash next time you go out

Motorplex is a ANDRA track so what ever the meeting, timing wont start until you break the beam. (accept for reaction time of course)

Launch on then last amber light. By the time you and the car react it will be green. Won't affect ET at all but you get a jump on your opponent. might take a bit of experimenting, so you don't redlight.

I always found 20-22psi in street tyres to work its best . Any lower than 20psi went backwards . Those are hot pressures too . Would run consistent 1.8 60' with 20psi in street tyres . As pressures went up, traction struggled more and more .

Also found alot of guys with Fords running similar pressures in F6's and quick Xr6T's too .
