Default Heater tap?

Gday all.
Returned from a run and found steam belting out the bonnet, lifted the bonnet and noticed coolant dripping from the firewall heater hoses. On closer inspection noticed the dripping was coming from the heater tap. Are these prone to splitting (being plastic) and is it a simple swap over item?
Cheers.

Easy fix & a little change from $50 @ Repco for a Gates brand. And make sure you dont have particles drop into the hoses as the old tap breaks up and crumbles in your hand like cardboard. I was shocked to see how bad they break down.
