I love watching these could do it all day. Was just watching a rerun with the Koenigsegg CCX (what a noise) but noticed a small thing when they were showing parts of the lap, at some points the lights were on and at others they werent. Ive seen a couple of stars in the reasonably priced car with the in car shot the tim on the clock changes. Whats going on here?

They are editing together the best looking bits of each lap run to make it look good.

apparently they do several laps then choose the best time, but dont necessarily show that lap by the look of it...
wonder how many laps stig does in each car?

Yeah it is definately edited to make the shots look great...
I'm also 100% sure that if you started a stopwatch when they took off, and stopped it when they crossed the line - the times aren't correct either.... Its all about the presentation... And as above poster said... they do multiple laps... and take the best one... You can't believe everything you see... but at the end of the day... its an entertainment program... don't you want to be entertained >?? (speaking of entertaining british shows... do yourself a favour and watch the inbetweeners on Go - Monday 9pm... that is the FUNNIEST show on TV bar none...)

you also notice they have 'music from the radio' when stig is driving, he usually doesn't have it turned on!
