lower starting bids can encourage more bids. pushes the price from $100 to a price which suits the market.

Although, i don't like the fact he hasn't placed a reserve on it ..

It looks like the person has only just discovered ebay today and though gee I could sell the GT. I hope the person gets the money there expecting. Someone might be lucky and get a very cheap GT, or maybe not.

Anybody with an ebay account want to place a bid for me. If it has no reserve it goes to the highest seller correct, so what happens if the guy doesn't want to sell it for $15,ooo if thats the highest bid.

Hi,
I have received your e-mail in regards of the car that I have on eBay.
I want thank you for your interest.
The car is still available for sale and ready to be shipped.
I want a quick sale and the price is AU$9,400.00. The vehicle is in perfect condition, like brand new. Shipping will be done via Lufthansa Air Cargo from Italy,Rome ( where the car is located for the moment ) and it will take no more then 4 days. I will pay the shipping if you will support the money transfer taxes. When I will ship it, I will arrange for all the dutyes and that why you will not pay any customs when you will receive it and for this it will be delivered directly to your address. The car is still registered in AU. I didn't have time to register the car here in Italy and I decide to sell it in AU.
Also, you have nothing to worry about this deal because it will be done in a secure way. The most important thing in all my activities is that I am affiliated at BidPay and I have a purchase protection account for AU$20,000.00 and I assume you know what this means. How you are protected by BidPay, in case we have a deal:
If you will not receive the car as I described to you, although this is not the case, BidPay will refund you with 100% from the whole amount which you paid me. Even in case that you will not receive the car, they will refund you the money back.
Let me know if this is O.K. with you, so that we can go forward with this deal! About the payment BidPay will manage in my place the financial details.
Best regards,
P.S. If you have the money ready and you want to buy my baby I will declare you the winner of my auction and I will contact BidPay to start the deal. If this is OK with you please REPLY WITH YOUR FULL NAME AND SHIPPING ADDRESS IN YOUR NEXT EMAIL so that we can move forward with this deal!

Yeah right. Same style as a New Beetle for $5,000 that I queried a few months ago. Address on Ebay was Sth Coast NSW with a pic of a Beetle with Oz number plates. The reply came from Germany, it sounded very suspect so I emailed Ebay Au and the pulled it. Looks like he's back

Peter :
So this is the latest ebay scam then this is from another seller:

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in my 2003 Ford Falcon BA XR8. I want you to
know that I closed my auction earlier because someone has offered me the buy
it now price, but didn't have all the money available. The price I want to
obtain for it is AU $9,350 (this price includes shippment and insurance
charges).
I'm in the Military and TNT-Carrier will manage me a low price for shipping
and if you will pay the money transfer taxes wich will be at $400, I will
pay for the shipping fees. I will arrange for you not to pay any duties when
the car will pass through customs. In this way the car will be delivered to
your home address. We found out that we cannot register the car here,
because it is an AU model (Australian Delivery, RHD) with AU specs and
Europe regulations are different from the australian ones. Also we didn't
pay yet the duties for bringing it here and if we sell it back to AU there
will be no more duties to be paid. Now we have our money stucked with this
vehicle, so the low price is for a fast cash deal.
The car is like new, completely working, low miles, 2003 model. It has
always been garage kept. It will be shipped via air freigth with TNT-Carrier
Air Cargo from Prague, Czech Republic and it will take no more then 5 days
for the car to arrive at the delivery location. The shipping costs and the
insurance taxes of the package will be down to me and you will pay the fees
for transferring the money (about 5% of the total amount). If you are not
100% content with the car, you will ship it back on my expense to get your
money back. I am sure this will not happen, because it is a state of the art
vehicle and you will have no reason to reject it.
This is a large purchase and I would like to use a third party for this
transaction as I want a smooth and safe transaction. We will use Square
Trade, I have completed a lot of successful deals using them. I have a
purchase protection account of $10,000 with them. If this is your first time
using eBay Square Trade here are their terms: if you will not receive the
car exactly as advertised or you won't receive it in 15 days since you made
the payment, eBay Square Trade will refund you from my eBay Square Trade
account.
If you agree with these terms, please send me your full name, shipping
address and eBay ID so I can register the transaction with eBay Square Trade
asap.
Regards,
