Default Mk4 fog lamps

A friend of mine with an 08 Mk Mondeo put in some fog lamps. Loom was there, button is there, i put in a fuse but they dont turn on.
I read on a UK based forum that a Ford dealer has to "turn" it on in the ECU so it knows it has fog lamps.

Is it just something small or does it have to be taken to a dealer?

Cheers, Glen

Hi. Did he fit a switch or was the switch there to start with? If it was already there it may be for rear fog lights and need a new switch folr front fogs. Cheers MD

There are 2 switches for the fog lights, one turns on the rear and the other im guessing in the front.

I also have an idea it needs a relay as well, but cant find where it would go. I might find some wiring diagrams and have a looksie.

From what i can see there is no relay for the fog lamps, only a fuse. (central fuse box)
