So I've just picked up another engine for my au and I want to pull it apart and rebuild it but I was wondering what are the best things to do to improve it whilst I have it apart.. I was thinking at least doing cam, valve springs and valves but what else would be worth doing? Would it be worth a new piston/conrod setup or is the stock setup already pretty reliable? And help in finding parts online would also be very helpful.
Thanks. J |

If you're going to be doing a cam and springs, I'd also consider some head work at the same time.

What sort if head work are you talking about? I will obviously have it shaved but I've heard it's not worth doing a port and polish because they came pretty good out if the mould.

A port and polish will definitely give gains, just depends how much you are willing to spend on your re build.

What sort of money are you wanting to spend and how many horses do you want to make?
