I am also planning on putting 20's on my AU and have been told of no problems with fitment... The only problem being the over all diameter of the tyre, apparently you are allowed to go upto 15mm bigger than your original overall diameter but 20's with the right size tyres on them are 16mm larger than the original overall diameter. So for the sake of 1mm im still putting 20's on my car cause they just look soo damn hot, hahaha.

is this really the case?
what about the load on the power steering pump will it cope?
and will it be able to turn full lock and now scrub and stuff?

anyone with 20's on an AU?

the larger the rim-the smaller the tyre isnt it..so in reality a 20in rim with 20-25 series combo would be same size as 16 in rim and 65-70 series tyre.If that wasnt the case the speedo would be out. Please throw rotten vegies at me for my stupidness if the coments I have made are outlandishly ignorant.

The only reason that load would increase on the power steer pump would be if you went to a much wider tyre and shouldn't scrub as long as you get the rolling diameter of the tyres right.

You are right rob, but it would be more like a 50-45 series tyre on a 16'... Another thing to remember is that the ride will be considerably more rough because of the lack of sidewall on the low profile tyres and that combined with stiff suspension would make it twice as bad.

They should look great. But insurance might be a hurdle. I think most allow 19" for AU's without penalties.

Most insurance now allow +2 on the largest diameter fitted to the range. Fortunatly for us, the T3 is an AU and had 18" factory rims... so 20" is allowed in most cases.
