Seriously though, I was beginning to wonder the same thing. I think some people secretly admire his threads. Come out of retirement Hulk.

That's impressive for a VW mate but it won't be gobbling up my 8 year old BOSS 260 with 214,000km anytime soon... I wonder what your VW will be like in 2022 ??

And even if an NA V6 can match a V8 to 100kph, it won't have the in-gear acceleration that you can only get from a big V8 or forced induction 6.

The problem with your argument is your comparing a 2014 model V6 with what I presume to be the BOSS 5.4 motors which have been around over 10yrs now.

A stock 2005 BF XR8 did the 100kph sprint in 5.9sec, the current model (2015) XR8 will do flat 5sec or less with the right driver... it's call progress mate and that's not taking into account the VW weighs a good 150kg less !

V8's will always command authority over their 6 cylinder counterparts... just look at sales when it was the slower BOSS 5.4 vs the F6.

And I've driven mildly modded XR6 turbo's and the rush was great but when I got back in my XR8, I found the drive more enjoyable regardless of the speed of I was doing.

Enjoy your VW

my point was that most modern cars make older V8s seem mediocre performance wise. You cant deny that.. A Boss 260 can still fend for itself they will need every rpm to keep their nose in front....but the old windsors against modern cars are like wounded deers amongst a pack of hyenas.

Also stock for stock the VW CC with air cond on will gobble up a 200,000km Boss 260..
