Bling my ride

Hi there i have a fg gt-p and i want to put some bling under the hood, where is the best place to go? what can i do? any ideas? i have been on ebay but i cant seem alot to get. Love to hear your input. Cheers

Can I put a post saying to NOT put any bling! Maybe a K&N pod filter and an intercooler but no bling ;-)

If your after a bit of shine you can get the alloy coolant reservoir on eBay. Also can get alloy fuse box cover, ecu cover and brake fluid reservoir cover on eBay aswell.

Whatever improvements you make will only devalue your car so choose things that are easily swapped back to stock later on.

Not to mention add unnecessary weight.

Plus it’s a falcon, you only need to pop the bonnet to change the oil.

Thanks guys, giving me some ideas, no dont want to go overboard, just wanted it to look nicer on show days. Starting off with the air filter and go from there. Ha ha you can tell I’m a chick with the bling 😁

I strongly agree with this. It's sort of like renovating your house, you have to consider what others may or may not like if you are interesting to receiving a good price come sale time. The chance of a lot of buyers liking your bling as much as you do is rare.

Personally, I think polished alloy is SO yesterday, Carbon Fibre is where it's at for bling, strength and weight saving.

You could change the Silver fog light surround to chrome ones - or not lol. It’s a GTP, no bling needed. I’d just make sure the brakes and inner guards are rediculously clean and detailed.
Braided lines don’t cost much. If you haven’t got them, get them. At a show take a front wheel off and show off the big brembos with the braided lines - I polish my 6/4s lol......true.

It looks alright as it is to me.

Keeping it nice and clean and the black's black is the secret to a nice engine bay.

If you don't want to add chrome or shiny bits, and want a little more bling, I'd do the following;

- Paint the engine cover red. (But leave chrome pattern on top as is).

- Remove the sticker from the top of the battery.

- Carbon fibre ECU cover, or simply paint gloss black or red.

- Carbon fibre Fuse box cover or paint red.

- Replace battery negative post lead with blue cable and chunky brass terminal post clamp.

- Treat all black rubber hoses and rubber / plastic trim with Turtle Wax "Black trim detailer" (This is a black rubber dye that makes rubber parts, trim and hoses look glossy and brand new again.)

- Paint coolant reservoir black (leaving small "window" on side unpainted to see coolant level)... Nothing spoils a show car more than a dirty and stained reservoir. Alternatively remove and clean out and flush with white vinegar to remove sediment. Replace with new coolant.

- Consider fitting a KPM "race cover" or custom one to cover pod filter... Dirty pod filters spoil the look on show car days. Or replace with washable K & N pink one.
