Ahh, the old one speeders. I've come across so many older folk, it's like they just average out the speed limits. 75 in 100 and then 75 through town and then 75 in 100...

Yes, but when are you putting the white wheels on it?

Here’s a thought,

Seriously, passenger vehicles and vans create about 10% of the world’s global pollution.
Now if we were able to magically sell 100% BEVs today, in five years we would see
5 million BEVs on the road in Australia in a total of roughly 17 million vehicles.
In that case, assuming the BEVs create no pollution for the electricity they recharge
with and consume, that means a pollution reduction of 30% of 10% of total pollution.

That my friends is a 3% reduction of total pollution, what a friggin joke…

The biggest creators of pollution are power generation and heavy transport
like road, rail and shipping. Those are the areas tha we should be focusing on.
Offer those industries a better way and see real improvement in GHG reductions.

Passenger Vehicles have already undergone massive pollution reduction changes
and now tthe last little bits will come at massive costs for vey little improvement.

Here's a journo's take on Mr Farley's getting back in love with small cars:

https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-new...e-suzuki-swift

He mentions that larger cars are probably better off with efficient petrol/hybrid for now but that small electric is probably the best way to achieve the NVES targets, and at the end challenges people to shop a size down from where they are, with a more efficient drivetrain.

Contrast this to the GMC Yukon arrival news I'm about to post in another thread haha
