This will be the FG equivalent of AU to BA, the new car can't be more than a refresh on an existing model otherwise it would have to comply with Euro 5 in late 2014. That's not a put down because the body cabin area is basically right, a change of nose and tail will make a stunning difference as would a new interior. I wonder if a slight door skin detail change is possible to match the new nose and tail... |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I personally think Ford should ditch the conservative styling and go all out. Hell "IF" its going to be the last falcon why not give it a go? The new trend is leaning towards very modern, angular designs that stand out. Give it a go Ford

As long as it looks different, that is all that is needed. Who would know that a EB & EL have the same cabin unless you told them? Or a AU & BA (Although didn't the BA get a different roof line or something to AU?)..
Dumb question.. What is a deck lid?? The boot lid?? |

BA sedan had different windows, wagon and ute kept the AU ones and hence looked like a Frankenstein.

Yeeeeah! Go Ford, Falcon goes further, that teaser was absolute gold, as good as
"We've Got Your New Car On Ice" from 1979 I remember to this day even though I was 3 or 4! and the journo's "The Ford Falcon may not be dead after all." Now you are advertising. Show me the new top hat so I can buy an ecoboost/EcoLpi wagon variant, on the sedan wheelbase if easier, and not shop at another brand! |

Look at the current model Territory for clues. Head lights and grill will be very similiar, seems to be the way Global Ford are going.

It would be great if they could also trim some length off the Falcon...
And make the ICC simpler, preferably with more knobs, less buttons. |

I love the fg dash but agree. I hate buttons for air cond/temp etc as have to take eyes off road to get all the settings right if need to change whilst driving. Dials are so much better and easier to change on the fly

I think you'll find that FoA's orphan ICC would be replaced with one that uses Sync. Hopefully it won't be MyFord Touch which so far has been a disaster in the US.

But I think we may see similar headlights to these on Falcon. With the main globe set in close to the grille. And that's okay coz they're nice headlights.

Ive heard theyre changing the boot so they may go to something like what Mondeo has had for a good few years now with the light treatment.
I think theyre going to have a hard time though integrating the new styling with the old. |

Melbourne Motorshow has been canned this year so I wonder how or if we'll still get a preview of the 2014 Falcon this year?

A guy I know who's seen it it says it looks like a tougher version of the Taurus SHO. I hope so cause I love the front end on that.

From what I read here, the next Falcon will be like the visual change from AU to BA and I can't wait to see some teasers.

Does the high bonnet line mean the end of the bulge?

The hardpoints stay the same ie. cowl height, headlight height etc so I can't see why that has any relevance to the bulge remaining or not. There's no way they would get rid of it because its a V8 signature item now.
But there might be a bit of a bulge on non V8 models, like Holden have done with the VF, and Ford have done previously on the Territory. Obviously not to the size of the V8 versions. Modern styling seems to have taillights that wrap around into the bootlid too |

Looks heading along the same styling as the VF if that's what it's going to be

Obviously there will be a strong corporate look to it, but I hope they don't follow the Evos's styling to the letter. The Evos was a coupe concept and I don't think it's lines would work too well on a sedan. But then again, the Ford designers do do a good job.

I think if anything was to follow Evos to the letter, and it wasn't a reintroduced Capri, it would be Mustang, but even that will be tamed down.
