Not sure if anyone has seen this Seton/Crompton AU replica... pretty well done and looks the part! I'd be putting a 5 speed in it though... Pity he got the usual tyre kickers on Ebay by the looks of the paltry amount the offers at the auction ended at. BTW... check out who signed the dash....lol.

Taken from the link above...

Quote:
Thanks to all those that have enquired about the car through ebay messages with offers and the likes. The auction will run its full length. If the car is not sold it will not be relisted. The XR8 will be put back in the shed and we will get by. We will then only bring her out on FORD open days, club days or for the Clipsal 500 pit paddock. I might have to look at selling a lung or a kidney to medical science but we will get by. The only reason that we are putting up the collection with the car is because we do not want a constant reminder of what we had and had to sell. It is hard enough coming to terms with selling it in the first place.

This XR8 will only accrue in value in years to come.
Surely no one is stupid enough to sell a kidney or lung instead of getting rid of a car? It's a bloody mocked up AU falcon!

At the end of the day, it's simply a Falcon Dressed up as a FTR Crompo & Seto V8SC. Signed by Dick Johnson??? THAT makes sense. It looks good, I will admit, I would buy it. But I'm not buying a Falcon at a Rolls Royce price. Its not an FPV, & for model-line sakes, it's not a T-Series, so its not worth big money. Most people are buyng it for the car, not the collection of memorabilia, it would have to be bought by a big-time collector for it to have any value.

If he is doing it hard, he will flog it off for what he can get for it when his back is against the wall. Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. What the owner thinks its worth, or what it's worth to him, is irrelevant.

This is an incredible machine.

This clip also has some great footage of the 917 at Le Mans.

If it’s been purchased as a donor car, I’d say that they’ve used the internals for something like a DRB Cobra.
