They should do a BA GT vs FG GT R spec vs FPR car I reckon. Something for everyone.

Anyways so the numbers are out and they seem decent to me. You either see the value in the extra $$$ or you don't.
Should have done a GT R spec and GTS, certainly would of settled some arguments.

Agreed, It's makes a Ssanyong look good. Definitely designed by hitting that modelling clay with an ugly stick.
GTS stands for Gee That's S*#t
Most Holdung drivers only have a few teeth, a mullet and one thong but because the crummykillerdore is so ugly it will make the drivers look good.

You can't say that mate. It's a ford forum.
You have to say it looks ugly, it's slow, it's overpriced, it's got too much tech, it's overhyped, it's just a commodore, it's not as good as Stazza's car, it'll fall apart, it's over braked etc etc

Also be suss on HSVs claims and ask for proof but then ignore the acceleration times from the media testing and keep asking for actual times that backup HSVs claims.

You do know Holden has actually been in trouble for spiking media cars.....there's no laws for that of course but the powers that be got wind of evidence a few years back and investigated.Guilty. Silent smack on the rists.
And what r u goin on about......like I've allready said.....the cars have been in journos hands for many months of testing at strips and tracks and there is like 2 times given. So forgive me if I sit here allll year waiting for a proper test and comparo vs this new halo car and its natural competitor...the GT Rspec. If you have a problem with that.....dont post here......unless you've got some numbers or anything usefull to add

12.6 with wheelspin through first and into second. Impressive stuff. Id hate to see how long a set of tyres will last though.

How many acceleration times have been published from the media about the
GT RSpec ? (It's been out a lot longer so there should be heaps)

I have posted plenty of numbers from the few tests that have been done but you seem to ignore them. Your thread is funny : )

Apparently the GTS that ran 11.04 makes 570rwhp with just tune, pulley and headers. Would be interesting to see what kinda power it would make with full exhaust, intake and a cam

I watched that track comparo and I must say; that GTS looked pretty composed going around mt. Panorama. With the prices they're sitting on yards for, it's starting to look like a pretty good value car. I'd like to see what an R-spec could do.

As someone else said - they don't look too bad in black (most cars do) and with the yellow brakes. If they fix the electrical issues, and the car manages not to fall apart, it's starting to look like a good buy. I'm still a wee bit peeved that Ford hasn't gone to the same extent with their hero cars.

Time will tell - I'm interested in seeing how the GTS stands to the test of time. And whether the trail-braking diff and the various life-support systems for the LSA will hold up.

EDIT: why why why does Ford not do a DAMN thing about promoting the FPV range? Holden sent a ute to the Nurburgring FFS! an SS ute! Now VF SS ute drivers think they own (or could own) a supercar!

They need more publicity stunts! imagine if they had staged a Phase III, vs T3 TE50, vs R-Spec lap? Hell, throw an F6 or XR6t in there for good measure!

If they're so good with all new technology why arn't they selling ? Numerous examples already sitting and sitting unsold on Trade Me in N.Z. ever since they landed here. Here's a Senator in Black. Some are claiming the Senator is the pick of them, (read least ugly),, no takers for 2 months since it was first listed when it arrived off the boat.

XFT in Perth just tuned a GS the other week, 572rwhp on stock pulley and exhaust. Only thing changed from stock was the air filter.

THAT is value for money.

The XFT discussion does not need to be brought into every thread on the forum. This thread is already wandering aimlessly for pages on end can we make a effort to keep it on track please and not distract the conversation.

Would have loved to see something similar between the VF GTS and the FG GT R Spec. Like a top 10 shootout though, one car at a time on the track.

Or as stated before, several times. The Holden is simply over priced, over rated, under performing and unimpressive.

5.0l Miami is a bang for buck weapon.

I love these comparo's - like the one with the AMG mercs vs V8 supercar vs F1 car.. show's how far we've come in the years past and how good we really can be.. Admittedly the GTS looked the goods on the track, pretty stable and cornered well.
My affinity for Fords aside, I'd still get one if I had the $$..

Stazza - that is your opinion, but I think you're way off the mark. Seriously, to get a GT to brake and handle like the GTS, whilst inter cooling it, would probably cost at least 15k... So, based on RRP, that's close to 90k.

I think the GTS is priced about right, for what it offers.

Would it be good value if priced at 85k? I'm sure in time to come there will low km examples for mid 80s. If all the gizmos hold up, then it will be a cracker car.

Actually, I don't know why I bother with ya. Even if it was 55k, and priced to match the GS it still wouldn't be as good aye?

True, its only when you add $$$ into the equation that the FPV becomes relevant. Reality is the GTS beats it in almost every other way.

And it should, how much newer is it?... I wouldn't waste my energy arguing the point. Let's just wait and see what FPV's response is in 2014. That's really the only comparison that will matter.

Maybe I don't reply to every single post.....or is it that your posting times that are slow times...not worth the quoting because there are faster times. We want the fastest and most recent and reliable times......not the slow ones. I could post a billion drag videos of vf times.....but we only want the fast times. Maybe ill post the times of the R Spec versus the GenF GTS in the wet. Nah because they are just plain irrelevant.
You know what would make the whole world happy.....if they did a proper test with the GT Rspec and the GTS allready.
