No one cares that the XR8 could have its head on the chopping block?
Would be a VERY stupid move by Ford if that were to be the case.♦ Who really cares about a H.O anyway - it isnt going to be anything like the original, it wont have the prestige and it wont turn into a Million Dollars if you leave it in your shed for 40 years. |

I say bring it on. Put the new S/C 5.0lt with 320kw in the normal FPV range, change the GT-P name to GT-HO, up the boost to get 350kw+, add some fruit (R-spec suspension, minor body kit change, different wheels and some rubber that actually grips, etc) and sell it for sub $100k. It will sell as did the "doomed to failure" BA (onwards) GT, no matter how much the purists cry foul.

Its a joke. It doesnt change the fact that the article and most discussion about GTHO has been done to death. My original comment stands.

Personally I don't think the time is right for a HO just yet, perhaps in a year or three. I agree that if they do it, they need to get it right. |

if they make a gtho it has to be a limited number run not this mass produced tripe gts they make today you want the mystique and the aura and all the feel good pixie dust? if its limited production run (even if its a dog of a car) people will aspire to want one because its a rarity, but FPV won't do it not enough money in that

If ford want to have a 'hero' car, i.e, somthing that would sit above the current GT, what else could you call it? It needs to have a name that is knowen, Thats why you can still get GT500 mustangs.
GT-R, GT-S, GT-T etc won't work. I could see it as this. GS sits where the GT is now, only cheaper, with a N/A engine. GT Moves up becomes the 'hero' car, supercharged and all. GT-P is dropped, with the GS able to be speced up to GT specs (minus, say a supercharged engine and GT unique body kit). GT-E is renamed GXL or ESP... or something. Or it says how it is with a GT-HO... Either way thats just a imagination running wild.

A new model to replace the GT-P; the GT-H was definately on the cards as of a few months ago.
If i was going to predict the FG2 FPV V8 range id say the GT-P will go and we'll see GT, GT-E and GT-H, GS is a 50/50 depending on XR8...... Crystal ball says GT/GT-E 330kw coyote, GT-H with 360kw coyote... But hey, i might be wrong....

From the this carsales link, it looks like Ford will continue with the XR8 in Coyote form.

Well I also think the XR8 will get the Coyote, remember Carsales is the one that keeps reporting a Coyote 5.8 is going to appear. This will happen around about the same time that I will eat my hat.

If GT = 330
and GT-H = 360 and Pursuit = 330 will Super Pursuit = 360?

Super Pursuit may get dropped, especially if Pursuit inherits some of its spec and theres nothing left to give the upper spec model.
