I now what you mean mate... however, it's not going to affect the integrity of the auction though if the car is being auctioned off with a reserve price (especially considering what the actual value of the vehical is).

I took the bidding from $6k to $28k, or whatever it was. I know ebays terms and conditions, and realise that if i was the highest bidder, I would have had to pay the $28k or so for the car. And YOU would not be laughing, I would be. I was just testing to see if it was a fire-sale - not taking advantage, but if it was a fire sale, why should I miss out on a cheap car. I stopped at a price I could afford, so when i said I was bumping it up, it wasn't as a favour to anyone other than me if I had've won it at that price - the bumping up merely referred to the fact that it was now out of my reach. The only way you can do a real dummy bid on ebay is by knowing the reserve and forcing the price up to the reserve but not beyond? Or by going over and never taking delivery of the goods, because you were doing a mate a "favour". But what does that achieve? Nothing. Your mate pays the commission to ebay and then has to relist, which makes it look like you didn't pay!

It'd sure suck to sell the car but if you're doing something you really want with the money then it's a good thing. You can always buy another car.

Just made the AU $47,700.00 bid. Bloody Betta.2 countered me immediately. GRRRRRRR

If I were CAM, i'd probably set the reserve around 60-62k. Bidding will probably only go to about 56-58k though.

Filming has now finished, so some lucky owner will take my pride and joy, it will be their turn to have some fun.
