i agree with putting this system in cars of driver who are repeat offendors and drink drivers deserve there interlocks too.. i know a person who took two lives in a car accident while drunk and till this day with no conviction he still drinks and drives and speeds now somthing should have been done along time ago. ill admit im no angel myself on the rd but i keep it as safe as i can

I think they are trialling them in NSW as well. Morris (Droopy Dawg) Iemma is addicted to revenue, and he sees this as a more efficient way of capturing the hardest criminals of all; motorists. Yes, in his states' charter, Iemma has cited that not only is every kilometre over a killer, but is the work of a murderer. If the Road Tax Authority had their way, they'd lock all of the hardened criminals that travel over 5km/h over the limit away for life. But, it's not all doom and gloom. As an affirmative step to getting rid of the "thugs and grubs" that are the speedsters/murderers, Morris and his government have done their best and spent limitless taxpayer cash on research that will stop this genocide of the roads.

He and his government have decided to keep the roads in complete and utter disrepair whilst simultaneously closing lanes (Epping Rd) for buses to ensure motorists never have the urge to speed. Furthermore, through extensive market research they have decided to pursue the paradigm of having a small set of wedding vegetables should one speed. Upon receiving the heroes welcome by the electorate for such affirmative action, he and his merry men are increasing public transport costs to make sure that we all use public transport instead of the menace that is cars.

^^Lol so true. One of many ways already demonstrated here to bypass such a system. I've implemented IT systems using GPS tracking systems in trucks and heavy plant etc and you'd be surprised of the way some of the guys come up with to make it not work!

And that's why it would most likely not happen - be very expensive for any government to implement and to maintain, to police effectively, and keep up with the sheer volume of cars/trucks/bikes etc out there.

Money could be better spend on far better roads, driver education etc. Speed is not the only factor that contributes to the road toll.
