Older users? check my join date!!! If my car arrives in pristine, show like condition, that's how I want it back. Yes I watch my car like a hawk, no matter which Ford Dealer services it. I thank the forum users who praise good polite service, I also thank the forum users who condemn, the fraudsters who pretend to offer Ford SERVICE. How about this episode, my EL GT suddenly gains oil pressure, Immediately I drive to a Ford "dealer" to have the oil pressure checked. At my cost, I am told the oil pressure is within "specs", no need to worry. So what's the specs I enquire? "we don't know, you will have to ask the head technician!!!" It took them 24 hrs to check the oil pressure, which included an over night stay. I told them I was grossly unhappy with their service, to which they replied "we are only a small country dealer, what did you expect?" I replied "I have paid $72K for this vehicle, as promised, I am supposed to get "premium" service. Their reply was " we don't know that much about EL GT's, we don't see enough of them" That may be true, but at least the service team should be able to read a capillary oil pressure gauge & check the operation of the instrument cluster!!! :

Then complain becuase there are finger prints left on the window.. Do you except a head job with the serivce as well??

We've all heard the Ford stories over and over again, but the one thing that has me intrigued.. how did the mechanic get red mud on his boots in a workshop?!

As cynical as it sounds i often wonder if Ford's problem is picking the wrong people to sell cars too..
This is not necessarily a dig at the OP but some of the nit picky things people complain about is getting ridiculous, expectation versus reality is a long way away for some people.
Fords service is neither better or worse than any other car manufacturer, that's a FACT. It is simply a dealer by dealer thing...

Look I do not want to compare dearlerships okay, but my car is ALWAYS in its best clean condition, i get it back with red mud on my carpet. Maybe he got it on his shoes/boots whilst having a smoke outside?how do I know?I was implying that I would rather pay more for better service. Also me telling you about our mechanic driving out to clean a customers car signifies that we would not say "oh yeah ujust drive over and we'll clean it off". We want the customer to do the least as it was our fault leaving the finger prints. Im simply saying it doesnt cost anything to bring foot well paper and lay it down before hoping in my car. Yes im am winging as they cant fix the bloody problem, ive been told many times it could be something when it cleary wasnt, ive replaced nearly every little bolt on electrical parts on it as they told me it could be this and it could be that.

I called up prior asking if I could have a quick chat to the technician. I did not just rock up and demand for service. My old man's F250 & my xr8 both get our services done there. So we are fairly good with all the service advisors.

Might be time to get a 2nd opinion, maybe go to some one that your not used to as they might try and impress you to get on going services.

I just don't get why your so angry about the car being revved? He is the professional and if he needs to rev the car he needs to rev the car - if its an idle problem, you would rev it first to see if it dips then settles again ect. Sounds like you just had the wrong attitude - I mean turning the car off whilst he is working on it (for free) WTF?

As for the mud - you demanded they drop everything (including other peoples cars that had BOOKED in) to look at yours (as you must be more important than all those other people that booked in) and then whinge becasue you got some mud on the carpet - boo friggen hoo, wash it off like everyone else, its a Falcon not a Ferrari. I bet if he had taken the time to clean his boots then put down a liner you would be here whining about how long you had to wait.

Some people have their head so stuck up their own asses they cant see jack. It shouldnt matter what car you drive, you rocking up to their dealership your car should be treated with most care. If driving a different car got you different service treatment then geez, a few makes would go out of business quickly, Why would he jump in and rev it without me saying anything yet?what i was wanting him to have a look at something that didnt require him to rev it?I didnt talk to anyone with a bad attitude, im grateful for him coming out to have a look, and i did thank him. Again i have mentioned to the service advisor if the technician has some time on his hands i could talk to, I asked weeks in advance, whats wrong with that?I dont mind if they charge me for it, I told them that, just wanted my car to be fixed and taken car of just like any of you's want your car treated and taken care of when dropped off.

If nothing else this mechanic bloke shouldn't have gotten into someone else's car with mud on his boots dirtying the carpet.

No matter how you look at it that is poor form.

Thank you "RG", I didnt start this thread to get flammed on how i had an attitude with me.(which i didnt, i took all steps in order for him to have a chat whenever he is free). Dirtying my carpet is what annoys me, not him reving the car, it didnt take long for me to clean it, 20mins for me to get off as it was half soaked in the carpet. Just that im sure their standards isnt that low.

Agree 100%, lets get some perspective here though.. its hardly worth a thread about it is it...
He should have insisted the car get booked in and dealt with properly.

Okay so it maybe not worth starting a thread about it to you but its worth something to me as I wanted to see if I should advise Ford about it, so no other customers get their cars no taken care of.

I also agree but I think the thread was posing the question that has anyone else received poor service from a Ford service dept. But this has been done to death im quite sure. What we need is a thread outlining good service from Ford, and see how many replies we get

Ford didn't do it, the mechanic at the dealer did it, contact the DEALER principle if the mud has upset you that much...
Your issue is with the DEALER, NOT FORD!!!!!!!!!
You make it sound like he just got out of a puddle covered in mud and walked through your car.
As far as i see it this is NOT a Ford customer service issue at all, its an isolated dealer issue and can and does happen at all dealers of all makes from time to time...

You wont get many because people dont like saying positive things, they enjoy and prefer grizzling about petty things, (and big things too)....

It took 8 weeks for my brother to get his HOLDEN JACKAROO fixed when the timing belt let go,and caused $4k of engine damage.. How that happened is a legal issue with another service centre ,so cann't comment.

I never said Ford was bad did i?why do i own one?i think Ford is one of the better car makes out there and are charging forward in their quality and all. Just that ive posted a thread to see whether i should advise them on using paper mats to steer clear of any further upsets.

You started the thread to complain about a bit of red dirt on your car mat and that the mechanic revved your car....

Had you booked the car in.. instead of an impromptu visit.. i'm sure they would have taken more care and used the paper mats...

^^^^ here here.... i agree 100%

if you have a problem.. contact the dealer principle.. try to get satisfaction that way instead of coming on here and starting yet ANOTHER thread about bad service... which method do you think might actually resolve your problem?
