i think i might chop it off before the hotdog at the rear and put a dumper on the end of it there. or just after the hotdog. hmmm decisions decisions. or just get new tips on to suit the new rear bar.

yeah if you dont give it away that you have a chopped exhaust you should be fine.
The problem you'll face especially if you have an 8 is giving it the right foot to hear that sweet deep note.

I am thinking of doing it on my ute ... I want it to be reasonably hidden ... it's only a 6 though ... but had a nice lopey cam in it ... so idle is nice.
I just hate seeing the tip just under the rear bar ... prefer the hidden look ... much neater. Although my problem is clearance around the twin LPG tanks ... I have to get a muffler/hotdog in there somewhere ... I only have the small rear muffler on the system now and it's reasonably loud.

I had mine dumped at the diff and i found that when i got the tail pipes put back on i gained alot of torque. Due to little to no back pressure in the exaust yeah it sounded good and with high flow cats you can get some wicked flames coming out from under the car (looks sweet when cruisin on highway at night) but the power you loose in my opinion isnt worth it. You do get a fair bit more cabin noise as well due to the exaust echoing through the wheel wells and the boot of the car.

highly illegal and for good reason the exhaust is designed to get carbon monoxide away from the occupants and dumping like that runs the risk of CO poisoning. this type of mod is just plain stupid and runs the risk of a darwin award nomination http://www.darwinawards.com/ so the choice is yours, do you feel lucky?

Yes it's dangerous you can get flame's under the car and there is a chance of carbon monoxide poisoning but i learned from experiance that unless you have alot of money under your bonnet there is no gain in dumping the exaust at the diff. You'll loose power and stuff the underneath of you car from flames and the fact the fuel tank is right were your dumping it out. Yeah it sounds good. Mine was dumped when i bought it when i put the rest of the pipes on it improved sound and increased torque heaps. That's my opinion and it comes from experience.

Although the std exhaust on the TS dumps to the ground back at the rear bumper. Sounds good in car parks...

When i say you'll loose power what i meant was torque. The low down torque i gained when i put the tail pipes on was more then noticable in every day driving. The drone i had from the exaust echoing in around the diff coming back through the floor of the car could get annoying as well on long trips.
