insured for 12.5k?

Don't hold ya breathe on it being written off then... We repaired worse than that in my day on the crash shop floor...

Classic one, my ex's 1995 KS Verada Ei.. was doing 70k's hit a stationary car... wrote off the car she hit (TF Magna)... $10,000 and 3 months later she was back on the road in her car, agreed values can suck becuase it makes them more than likley fix them at times...

But in saying that a mate had a hit in a VS Statesman insured for 11k and done 9.5k damage was almost a write off but they repaired it, SGIC's words were "all the value in Fairlanes and Statesmans are in the front end so they are worth nothing at auction with a bent front end" so all in all.. ya might get it back lol might not..

Brenden and Deb, sorry to find out what has happened! Glad to hear that you're alright and that there may be a chance for The Green Limousine yet.

Good luck with it! Hope your neck gets better soon.

Sorry to see this Brendan , good to see you are ok ,just as well they hit the back door and not the drivers door ,you may have been a bit more worse for wear.
Buy a German staff car if its written off. Older Mercs are a steal and will go for ever if you service them regularly .Lower it with some wheels ,they look good .
Well maybe not this good..lol

Lancer GSR hey , yeah they are a underrated weapon .Prelude to the evo's . Make sure it has been serviced well ,it could be a money pit .
If it is no good ,what about a RS Liberty turbo a bit earlier vintage .These are a bit of a sleeper ,prelude to the WRX.
Anyway good luck with it mate.

If it gets written off I will only have 12k to spend on a car.

I'm not much of a fan of the WRX as A) its WAY to common and B) all reports say they have weak as hell gear boxes.

I have always been a fan of the evo's etc

nah as I've had a good run and want to go fast around corners and on the track etc for a while without having a baby on board and being closer to 25 helps with insurance

the lane isn't exactly a track weapon BUT does make a great cruiser... in the future I may get another but not at this time

PLUS Debzilla(my fiance) already has a black au lane so I won't be without luxury travel...
and she currently has TWO Sets of 20s to use as mine was wearing stockos when I crashed

Fast around corners eh. What about 180sx sr20det version, S13's are good bang for buck these days.

Thats what everyone thinks but there are some people out there hiding in darkness who actually drive these things with grip and my god they will rip your face off around corners. But yes they are the typical drifter and that attracts a lot of unwanted police attention.

true true
I suppose MOST jap cars can go fast enough around corners to make your **** pucker..

I think the S13s just look very dated
and I dare say the insurance premium would be HUGE on the RWD jap cars due to the drifters writing them off while trying to be a hero in an industrial area
