What a weekend!!
I saw the VY in the flesh... man what a SICK wing!!! LOL.. after what u guys did to that car it will never be the same again.

I had a ball taking the gem out on the track for the first time. She took all the punishment, and i even managed to get into the Go to Whoa finals on sunday for the firt time which was nice.

The cops were out in force, as expected, but I was glad they didn't bother me towing the car around.

Cant wait till next year!!

DUMTEF why was there no strippers hanging out of your car. :P Anyway great cars and great nightlife up there.

PS Anyone see the green lancer do about 4567678million laps up and down the main road with his bull sound system.

Yep I saw the Lancer probably about 50 times. And the chick in the white Magna with chrome hubcaps and dance music blaring cut a few laps as well.

tele you should know all about why the strippers didnt hang out of my car, i cant beleive u didnt ring her after you got her number. but her boss wouldnt let her do it, even if they had a big rawhide flag hanging out also.

that green lancer needs to be blown up.

and yeah i saw bass crazy up there also, i didnt get to see the gemini go.

i was busy most of the time cruising around with my mates sitting in the boot with the stereo cranked, either that or i was at rawhide (i love that place).

John, Doug, Ash why didnt i see you guys out at rawhide on saturday night??? :

We went to the street party at The Aussie to start with and then ended up going to two other places, but I can't remember what they were called. Probably a good thing we didn't end up going to Rawhide because I only had about $10 left after Saturday night anyway :(

Sorry Gunns, no pics of Kara, I don't have a camera phone (l'm livin in the past lol).....btw Ash, did you know she wasn't even 18 lol : Dunno how the hell they got in : Reckon I would have almost gone for Susan too I was that far gone :

As for the VZ, I took it back this morning, definately goes a lot better with no people or luggage in the car. Should have seen the amount of crap I had to vacum out of it hehehe. The detailer's gonna hate us ;) I almost left the fluffy dice in there too...oops!

And yeah, that green Lancer was gay. Once he had his defect, u couldn't stop him, he just kept coming past. What I found funny was that a nice ED went past the defect station like 4 or 5 times and didn't get pulled in once! It was lowered with exhaust and what looked like 19's...very nice. He even booted it a little bit right next to the cops and they still didn't care lol.

Anyway, great weekend....

Soooooooo, who's coming to the Summernats??!!!

Some police info for you guys, in the local paper yesterday rergarding the weekend.
Police issued more than 300 penalty notices, and made 50 arrests. This is four times less than the number of arrests made in 2000 so they said. They are hailing it as a success, and say the crowd was well behaved. 122 defect notices were issued, and 40 EPA notices. 176 penalty notices for traffic offences were also issued, along with 106 people receiving on the spot fines for breaking local council bylaws (swearing, vomiting, drinking, urinating, in public).
All taken from the local Monday paper.

Regards

The only reason the arrests are down is because the crowds are way less than in 2000.... It was like a ghost town compared to what it was like back then

EXACTLY! You can tell just by taking a walk through the camping park. I've been the last 4 years and 2003 was the last year it was packed. I went up with two mates and where we camped along the railway track side of the park was TOTALLY packed with tents...everyone had to park their cars next to the railway line. The last two years you could fit about 4 cars inbetween tents there is that much room.

Exactlly........... i couldnt belive there were free camping spots.. i mean years ago that so wouldnt happen.... It was a big dissapointment. The **** up in the camp ground used to be one of the good parts of the weekend...

I was camped there in 2001/02 not sure what year it was, but i was passed out was woken up by about 40 cops who decided it was a good idea to storm the camp grounds. I decided bugger it and didnt go for a few years. The FUN NAZZIES have sure destroyed what was once a great event.

always happens though.....summernats is going down the same path. They get rid of alcohol, introduce all these bans and rules, and make it a 'family' event. Screw that, families barely go, they should make a dedicated family day like Emirates Stakes day at the Spring Races. Then all the kids can see the cars without seeing drunk blokes in Jack Daniels T-shirts yelling 'show us your tits' to all the ladies ;) And on the other days, the rest of us can pull on our Jack Daniels T-shirts and enjoy ourselves :P

Exactly.
Try telling the police this.
They think they have bought it under control.
In a way they have, but they have killed it 10 times over.
Crowd behavour had to be be sorted out...yes, but the reason we don't get the numbers there now, is because of the heavy handed tactics from police towards the cars, not towards the crowd!!!! Nothing else.
If they let the very minor descrepencies go on the cars (not look at them until they can find something minor) people would have more respect for the law, and attendances would be up!!
It's no different than allowing those F1 cars in Melbourne that time drive around the streets for a few short laps. I saw no EPA or police checks on those cars while this happened!!!!! Goverment should let a few things 'slide' for these events(As they did for the F1's), and only defect or come down hard on the cars that have faults that are outright dangerous (Bald tyres, Steering flogged out, No brakes, etc) or if your driving around like a complete 'Tool'!!!
It's good to see you guys still had a great time in ya hire car (good idea), but if you were able to take your own pride and joy along for the ride as well, it would of made the weekend that much more enjoyable I would think!

Regards

AGRO.
