Hey guys gthofan and i have just finished working on the car we did plugs leads dizzy cap rotor button and injectors couldnt work it out it was still doing it we ran the racv they came out and it turns out the fuel filter is full of crap he flushed it abit but one of the nuts is rounded off but it went really well but then went back to the same and we couldnt get a new one today cause everything is closed by now so its still running a little crap but hey we know whats wrong with it now.

Thanks scotty for all your help today i owe you one mate!

Good work mate. I love fixing things myself.. it's a bastard doing it, but feels great once it's done.

I'd still go buy the manual for your car when you can. It's awesome and includes the ECU diagnostics I was talking about.

Yeah i love doing it myself but it gets to a point sometimes when you jsut cant find the problem but oh well we did the majority of it!

that's the only reason I stay away.
I'll take a dash out but never install it.. I HATE creeks and noises HATE Them with a passion and unless your a pro at NOT leaving bolts behind dashes will creek and make noise.

Hey boys did all that work turns out is a fuel filters seems like its full off s!@t and is blocking my fuel from getting throught to the engine. Can anyone tell me how much it would be to get a fuel filter done?

DUDE I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM CHECK UR FUEL PRESSURE REG SEE IF THE PRESSURE IS RIGHT IF IT IS. THEN IT IS UR FUEL PUMP!!!

i was fuging around for ages and thats all it was despite $300 for a new pump.

Changing a fuel filter is a piece of **** mate and they are cheap. Get two open end spanners and crack the nut by using the spanners as scissors. Your car sounds like what mine used to do. Is it back firing? Check the hall effect sensor in the distributor...

Fuel filter is a very simple job and will cost about $5 to replace.

Hmmmm, had this problem in my EA when i changed over to MPI... went great for about 2 hours then started doing EXACTLY what u mentioned here. Now i cant start the car at all coz the starter wont engage. :/
