It all depends on how much you can do yourself. no matter what dump pipe you get you are still going to have to get it welded to your exhaust.. no dump pipe comes complete with high flow cat and 3' exhaust. And i agree that there is a few extra bits and pieces that come with the Jim mock kit but i cant see the justification in it being 12 grand.. i doubt there is nearly 8 and a half thousand dollars worth of extras.. all to only produce 180rwkw. Maybe for the cashed up individual with not much mechanical knowledge it might be a good idea but as for myself im extremely pleased with the Snort Performance kit even if it is a bit DIY and you need one or two other things.

from what i understood, the JMM turbo package was developed to produce around 250rwkw.

with reguards to the dump pipe for instance, you can produce one that will bolt uptop a cat back, include a high flow cat in ur package, have a dump pipe that includes cat and bolts straight onto a cat back flange.

as u said, it all depends what you can do yourself, i'm quite capable of doing a majority of work on my car, however i can't weld, so i'd end up having to take my car elsewhere to get it completed. and since the cars not drivable with any of the turbo stuff bolted on, its pretty much a matter of giving everything to someone and saying do it.

I'm fairly close to turboing my car too, and tossing up what i do myself and what i get others to do, and how exactly i get the car there to let em do it

one of the quality modified factory jobs :P
not exactly the best thing out there, but i've seen about 4 people using them and it will be enough for what i'm after.
not to mention the low budget i'm sticking to

Will be fitting a snort kit very shortly to another of my vehicles. If you can't provide yourself with the intercooler, piping and just the small bits inbetween for under $600 plus exhaust between $300-$1000 then something is wrong. Ofcourse you will be fitting the plumbing and cooler etc. If it costs me more then this i won't be happy. I plan to spend less than $4,000 total which includes the turbo kit providing rising rate reg, intercooler, dump pipe, oil lines, turbo, manifold, wastegate, screamer pipe and other bits. $12K does me another car including purchase of it.

EFFalcon, why not go buy a mig welder and learn how to weld, its not hard?

go to an exhaust shop, buy a few bends and what not and have a crack at it?
if your mechanically minded, and some common sence you will have it down pat within less then a day, I built a buggy when I was 16, my welding to when I first started to what it was like a week later, you would of though a pro came in and took over lol...

or you can fit the turbo kit up, and run it straight out of the dump pipe while you drive it down to your local exhaust shop on virtually no boost.. just dont get caught lol..

You can get a mig welder cheap cheap! aswell..

plus they are handy to have, never know what might need welding in the future..
like what happens if you run out of zip-ties? lol jk

maybe find a mate with a welder, give him a case of his favourite drink and borrow the welder off him? lol
