That done and alot of other small things to make it at least a running EA, dash needs to go in, 4 speed auto brackets need to be made, brakes bled. I am sure alot of other small things needed as well.

It comes down to time, alot of time needs to be spent on the car to get it running again.

I apologise for disappointing those who took an interest in the project which at one stage had big plans, and also to say a special thank you to EA2BA who gave tireless support and effort in his own time.

My plan is to sell the car as is, as a rolling shell with the AU motor and most parts to run, but this is not confirmed as yet. Either way the nasty news had to be broken! D'oh.

Cheers,

Matey, take it from me the king project aborter.... lol, your going to kick yourself if you get rid of it.....
My 2 cents anways,

I wish that were an option matey, but space is at a premium now, as is time. ;)

A quick update meanwhile, a couple of forum members expressed interest but were understandably put off by the amount of work needed to go in. As a parts car, though, it's probably one of the best an EA-ED owner could get. Nonetheless I am open to sub-$1k offers because the next step is accepting any pittance a wrecker might offer.

You'd get priority cos your car uses 4 litres of oil per outing? :P

Nah that's ok.. I can pick up an AU engine elsewhere, but I'd also like to see it go to someone who'll finish it. If the dash was in there and all hooked up, I'd have considered buying it. It doesn't need much to get going really.

Would make a clean cruiser..

Nup. Nunna them AFAIK.

There wasn't much of a turbo kit to go with the car. IIRC, turbo, boost gauge and wastegate are all that were included.

FTL?

But on a more on-topic note, I do recall one of the e-series members mentioning something about intending to purchase the EA and return it to being relatively stock. This was a good few months ago though.

Yeah I bought it.

I ditched the 6 and went for a TT 347 setup. It's made pretty good power in testing. I don't have any pics, but I'm hoping to run her down the 1/4 within the month.

Cheers.

the penny may drop for some peps.
this is why ive had sooo many questions on au engines and parts that i have no clue what model car they came from.
cos im sorting thru all the gear i picked up with this project car.

the sad news was car has been crushed (just the shell and i mean JUST THE SHELL) due to it needing more work than me re-using my current 4 speed EA2.
was a waste but no body wanted the straight panels and no body wanted the shell so had no option but to get crushed

so i bought all the turbo parts, the au engine, rolling shell and random parts.

after the 2 weeks she looked like the photo below.
the front wheels are held on using blocks of timber....thats how serious i stripped her.
the windows have been kept and partly given to a mate whos ea got broken into and messed up.

otherwise the rest will end up on my ea and being sold.
the end hopefull result is something i will be proud of. and of course happy with.
