sounds like a joint E Series and aufalcon.com "test and tune" cruise to heathcote is a good idea for later this year?

My cammed up AU will be hitting the track for the first time on the 12th June at WSID with V8 Owners.

I should also have my Jaycar DFA and techEdge wbo2 in by then so I can do some (fuel) tuning.

I've never raced my car at an official track before so it should be fun.

for me personally i dont have an au but i wont race the gt because i cant afford a breakdown . 2nd, i am not that good at changing the 6sp. 3rdly have you seen how fast those old cortinas go . and toranas. would'nt like to be up against one i'd probably miss a gear and pull a 15sec 400m and give the gts a bad wrap. doh'

I think you get better times at Calder then at Heathcote.

I have taken the car to Heathcote once 'cause I wanted to see what time it would do and 'cause I had never been on a drag strip before. Being a virgin drag racer I ran the car on a full tank of petrol, spare tyre and jack in the boot on a 31 degree day and managed to pull off a good time. I though it was good anyway.

I have been wandering what time I could get at Calder, at night, on a much cooler day, with less fuel in the car and without the extra 27kg from the spare tyre in the boot, but I don't think I will end up going. I chewed up my tyres pretty bad at Heathcote and those bastards are expensive to replace.

If I ever mod the car(Headers +exhaust) I will go again to see the difference.

Sweet. I'm aiming to be there to, to give the dev5 cam upgrade some runs.

No thanks.
When it's the only car you have, why risk damaging it at the drags
Providing you don't do a burnout, what difference is it to having a go at someone at a set of lights ?

Still, to each their own. I f'ked my clutch the first time out, however I gave it a hiding lol

I am still running the standard exhaust, so I'll find out just how much a restriction it really is, LOL.

Will be interesting to do some testing. I have a K&N Pod/CAI setup I can test against the factory airbox too, not to mention the DFA "signal bender"

Be good to see a familiar face out there

Apart from the clutch, have you changed anything since you last run?

there is sweet f**k all west of the mountians for us in NSW, besides myself taking the ute for the occasional lap around Mt Panorama after work about once a week, there is no dragway anywhere near here.

they open up the old airstrip at Wellington every 3 months or so for a day, but thats over an hour drive away and full of ricers and bogans, and thats if you dont have anything else planned when they decide to hold it.

Last time was just unichip, exhaust, t series intake, extractors.

This time it'll be the new clutch, dev 5 cam + whats already mentioned. If I can be bothered I hope to have some extra piping like what Casper has done to his airbox (airbox mod on aufalcon.com ).

With some nice cooler weather coming along it will be interesting to see how much a difference this makes.

One day, maybe when the petrol prices drop.

I have taken it to Wakefield Park, though.
