The suggestions he was asked to leave may be true. Turns out he rubbed up the dealers the wrong way and blamed them for not selling enough cars. But that comes from old flog Dowling though so who knows what the real story is.

the brass telling dealers they are not pushing the cars enough would not surprise me, an acquaintance that worked for a holden dealer years ago, i remember him telling me how they pushed him to put the hard word on customers, to the extent that no signature no test drive in some cases ( or you drive it you buy it), they used to play hard ball to get a sale, im sure they arent all like that , but no doubt some of these guys are under a bit of pressure to make sales and it probably goes all all the way to the top, hence the topic.
