Yesterday was exactly 10 years since my parents picked up their brand new Focus.
Year: 2007 Body: Sedan Series: LT Model: LX Transmission: Automatic Mileage: 66,126 km !!! Noise from rear end Calibration of throttle is awful with 'tip in' being way too abrupt. Parents are both long time retirees so this is your classic 'only driven to the shops, church and friend's houses' type of car. The car has never been abused but neither has it been fawned over. To them the car is an inanimate object and like other 'tools' it is kept in proper working order. But no TLC.

What year it is? 2012
What Variant/badge? ST What series? LW, I think? What transmission? Manual and of course, how many km's did it run? It's just clocked over 46,000. No issues except that the value has allegedly nose dived to a point where some peanut offered me $13k as a trade in, and then had the audacity to tell me..."well, it's almost five years old"...The other reason for a dodgy trade in is "oh but that class action with the focus"...not even made in the same country...

Wrong transmission as well for the class action.

What Variant/badge? TDCI What series? LV What transmission? Manual Km's ? 52000 -Bought this car about a month ago so I'm new here. I changed jobs so needed something that was cheaper on fuel than my Modded Octavia RS. -The A/C leaks into the drivers foot well which i believe is a blocked drain. I will investigate in the next couple of weeks. -The boot light doesnt work I have changed bulbs and still not working so I suspect it is in the latch/switch. -Im a bit of a fiddler so already replaced the horns with decent ones as the originals were woeful. -Replaces the wipers. -Started replacing internal lighting with LED. -Ordered new headunit. Reverse camera waiting to be installed. -12" Subwoofer waiting to be installed. |

126,000 km Superchips remap. Various suspension updates. Flaky cruise control. Otherwise, no real problems to date. Big fan of the Powershift in this variant. |

Same, we got the Getrag 6DCT450 wet double clutch auto which performs great with the diesel engine.
Good to see the next Focus will be coming with a diesel engine but it's only 150bhp for the 2L engine. I wonder if that's electronically limited? They called it Ecoblue Diesel so it could be developed by Ford and not just an off the shelf engine from Peugeot/Citroen.

As the op, I would like everyone to know that I got a 2011 Ford Focus LV TDCI for almost a year now. And for that, I want to give my share on this thread.
What year it is? -- 2011 What Variant/badge? (CL, LX, Zetec, TDCi, XR5t, ST170, Ambiente, etc.) -- TDCi What series? (LR, LS, LT, LV, LW) -- LV What transmission? -- Manual and of course, how many km's did it run? -- 174,000. When I first got the car, it had 163,000 km's on it. And now almost a year of ownership, the car now has 174,000 km's on the clock. I had no problems ever since of owning it and knock on wood it stays that way! As for the maintenance and mods that I have done, - I did an Oil and filter change @166,000 km's - Replaced the Fuel filter - Installed K&N Air filter - Replaced the headlight globes to Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited - Replaced plate lights to led - Replaced side lamps to led - Installed Chrome line weathershields - Installed Sport pedals - Replaced the rear Ford emblem because it was faded - Other detailing work such as polishing of windows, headlights, paint and trims Will be updating this thread for more in the future! Thanks for reading

What Variant/badge? XR5 What series? LV What transmission? Manual and of course, 58,000. Owned it for about 4 months. I've had the following (minor) problems: - Broken bonnet latch (must have broke when I was refitting the front bumper after upgrading the intercooler) - faulty reverse switch |

Great torquey motor. Only headlight assembly changed under warranty in 2012. Very happy with car. Pity no more Focus diesels are offered here in Australia. |

Year: 2004
Body: Sedan Series: LR Model: CL Transmission: Automatic Mileage: 190,255km Been owned for 2 years, When i first purchased the car engine mounts were bad (my fault for not checking with mechanic). Last year did a major service on my car which included timing belt kit replacement, water pump, spark plugs and automatic transmission fluid change. My focus has been a good daily driver. |

Year: 2011
Body: hatch Series: 1.6 litre petrol duratec Model: Lw Transmission: Manual Mileage: 218,000klm Problems , steering failure caused by a cracked inaccessible fuse. Two serpentine belt failures, they seem to only last 80,000 klms, they then they go into limp mode, which only ford can correctly reset the computer Owned since new, really great reliable economical car other than those problems. We've got three in our family
Dad's What year it is? 2007 (bought new in 2008) Body type? Hatch What series? LT What Variant/badge? CL What transmission? Automatic and of course, how many km's did it run? 81,000 Problems? Needed the digital display unit (trip computer/odometer) replaced at around 23,000km under warranty. Mum's (originally mine, but sold to my mum when I switched to a French car) What year it is? 2005 Body type? Sedan What series? LS What Variant/badge? Ghia What transmission? Automatic and of course, how many km's did it run? 212,000 Problems? I bought in 2008 at 2.5 years with 97,000km. Trouble free until 155,000km then over next 10,000km replaced rear wheel hub, EGR module, and something else that I can't remember ($3k all up). I sold to my mother after 4 years and 75,000km. When I sold was still on it's original brake pads, and battery had only just been replaced as most of its life was spent on the highway. Transmission has never felt right (just flares a lot), but is getting much worse as it gets on. Clearcoat has worn right off the boot and peeled off mirrors. Despite being well cared for, it now looks and feels every part a 212,000km old car. Mine What year it is? 2005 Body type? Hatch What series? LS What Variant/badge? CL What transmission? Automatic and of course, how many km's did it run? 159,000 (I'll be doing 900-1200km a week for at least 6 months) Problems? Left rear indicator doesn't work (it's started working twice for 3 days), and rear brakes really squeally when reversing. Had to replace engine mount and leaky CV boot for RWC. Transmission definitely flares more than my Dad's one, but not as much as Mum's. They are great cars, and an absolute bargain (especially at auctions), and they have a reputation in the trade that a lot can go wrong. Although our three have been great. I think the LX is the sweet spot in the range. It gets 4 airbags, ABS (std on LT CL), global opening on the windows (you don't realise how amazing this is until you get another car), cruise, electric windows, alloys and remote controls on the steering column pod for the stereo. My sister is going to need a new car soon, and while LS/LT Focus's are older than her Getz, they're structurally very sound, come with good safety equipment (except the CL without the safety pack), and are an absolute bargain. We might make it 4 in the family. |

The original battery fitted to the car when it was built in November 2007 has finally cried enough. Just over 75,000km covered in that time.

What Variant/badge? -- Titanium What series? -- LZ What transmission? -- Auto How many km's did it run? -- 5000 Picked up this demo car about 3 weeks back.I really enjoy driving it.Noticed that idle rpm on a cold start is at 1250 and it takes about 3-4 minutes of idling to drop to 750.Is this normal on this model? |

The engine is calibrated to run at a higher load when started so as to get the catalytic converter hot as quickly as possible. This is normal operation.
