Fiesta was the number 1 selling small car in UK for July and number 42 in small cars in australia. Agree there will be new focus, mondeo and everest but for as long as Ford Australia Markets its products, they will struggle. Shame really cause the products deserve the spotlight for the right reasons.

Really, who cares where the bits originated from? No one, just look at the sales of all products.

From day one, everyone new that the Commodore was a by-product of the Opel/Vauxhall. Peter Brock even imported some 2 doors & turned them into SS's.

The Commodore had an Aussie 4, 6 & 8 plus trans & diff.

The Falcon had an Aussie 6 plus trans & American engine plus trans. Same with diffs.

Who cares.

All the sales numbers prove is Fords sales and marketing teams are a complete and utter failure. They need to be completely cleaned out and started again from scratch.

I beg to differ, most people, (not car enthusiasts) think that the Commodore has been a full Australian ground up design from day one. Holden has never once mentioned it's Opel connections because this would have hampered its "Australian" car manufacturer image. Of all the car manufactures it has been Holden's greatest asset in pushing it's Australian roots. Even when Falcon has been more Australian for ever and a day it has a Ford badge on it which is an American brand. One thing to look forward to is how will Holden grab 2500+ sales after local production ends. It will take marketing genius to push anything they sell with the Australian lineage gone because really when all are imports heritage won't be as big a selling factor, but rather the car itself, features, quality and importantly price.

Well they cant even prepare a brochure without costing the company $55k!!

Lol they put that the Pursuit had rear sensors standard, which it doesnt. Now they have had to offer every pursuit owner their first service at 15,000 kms for free (usually costs $465).

LOL.

It's been a bit busy lately so I've only just got around to doing the June graphical stats along with the 2nd Quarter segment analysis.

They can be found here:

2nd Quarter Segment Analysis

June Sales Statistics

June Supplementary Statistics

I'll try and get the July numbers done today.

Cheers

They built them a few months ago. Don't think it will make it.

It's been widely acknowledged that many Ford vehicles are top of their respective classes, or close enough to it. You are clearly a troll.

Meh doesn't matter how crap your product is, if you can reach enough people with advertising you'll get sales.

Ford's marketing department are about as useful as a Nazi gift shop in Israel

What are you smoking? It is one thing to import ideas and styling cues from other locations, it is totally different to use a whole car from another location and do modifications to it for the local market.

Aren’t they only stopping the manufacture of cars here?
If they’re still selling in this market even if it’s just imports wouldn’t they still need to advertise and market themselves?
If what you say is true and they only have one good product but the other rubbish models are still selling to the sheep then their marketing strategy must be working.
I don’t fathom how you can say a company is irresponsible for drawing attention to their brand.
You’ve got to spend money to make money.
Most people don't read car mags, they see something they like on the Tele or what the neighbour is driving.
Ford has to eventually start marketing itself otherwise how will the buying public know if the product exists let alone if it's any good or not.

They are very good at polishing turds (referring to their cheapy imports). Comparing the Fiesta website to the Barina website is depressing. Ford have managed to make their premium car look cheap, while Holden have managed to make their cheap car look premium.
