Hi Julza, sounds like a rare car. Can you tell me if the Azzuro wheel used on the TE50 is the name of those Tickford ones with 15 spokes used on Sportsman Fairlanes as well?
Thanks, Andrew.

G'day Dauphin, how you doin mate? Funny you should ask that, cause my old man has an AUII Sportsman like yours, same colour too. The Azzuro wheel (AUII TE50) is different to the sportsman rims. While the sportsman had a 17" rim, the Azzuro was an 18". If you look closely the spokes on the Azzuro are thinner and sharper too. Hope this helps mate.
Julza

Okay then, thanks for that. Mine is a 75th Anniversary. I know that there is a similar wheel on some AU Falcons and Fairlanes that have a slight "curve" to them, so maybe that's what you're talking about?

G'day Andrew. Yeah the rims on the AU Fairlane Sportsmans and 75th Anniversary are the same 17" wheel. They also used the same design on the 75th Anniversary Fairmont Ghia, although I believe it was a 16". The same wheels were used on the MKI BA Fairlane G220 and optional on the LTD. You can also option these 17"s with the current BA range. The ones we're talking about are a Ford rim (as opposed to the 18" Azzuros which were designed/supplied externally.
Cheers, Julza

I was surprised Ford carried over the wheels for the G220 so I looked at them closely and I swear they are different! They seem to have a different upper-rim section squared-off design on the spokes.

Haha yeah mate they're the same rims. The only difference is the centre. With the 75ths and Sportsman they put a cover over the wheelnuts (judging from your avatar you took yours off). So yeah the BA versions don't have this cover, which IMO looks heaps better,

Yes, I prefer them off. Gives a more aggressive stance, I think.

Nice Townie. Reminds me of my old AU. Except mine was Black as wasn't an ST. Although it was exactly the same as an ST minus the rims :hihi:
