Well, since John has one, I'll take it anyway. After driving the EBII 5 speed for so long, I want my transmission to feel as similar as possible (besides the shorter first gear). I love driving that car, so I don't want mine to feel second rate.

Wont take that long to get it off, 2 13mm bolts so a socket and an extension bar, worst part is the thing is bloody heavy, maybe consider a newer lighter AU one to replace it while ya at it.

Well, I've gotten the oil, got some coolant for the heater core replacement, got the heater core!, got the rear main seal and welsh plug. I haven't got an AU starter motor but I've spent enough for now I think. The EA one works well, so if it aint broke, don't fix it.

I've also got snags, 3 loaves of bread, a slab of Carlton, an 18 pack of Jim Beam, and a heap of Coke. The only meat I've got is snags, so if anyone wants anything else you can bring your own.

Hope that is all I need for tomorrow

if the welsh plug at the rear looks good then just leave it, unless it doesnt look like a copper/brass one. rear main yes do it, they are pain to get out, and tap it back in slowly and squarely and all will be good.

Thanks for the advice Jason. Pat suggested we do them, and the parts are cheap, so once we get a look we'll decide on whether to do the welsh plug or not

yeah wasnt bad, the usual e-series style 2 people working 10 watching lol wasnt too bad, marks fuel pump threw a wire and took us near on 3 hours including waiting for the racv guy to tell him that it was the pump, then said he couldnt pick one up so pretty much told him to **** off and we fixed it ourselves

Yep. It's good to have the T5 in. Huge thanks in particular to efgiar, who did most of the work. Also thanks to EA2BA, gthofan, xr-6000, gubas, and mark_TD for all the work they did, and EDXR6T for bringing the parts for John_XR6. Sorry John, I forgot to give the $10 to Pat for you, so I'll pay you on the next cruise.

The manual runs great. It needed a fair bit of fine tuning to get the clutch right, and still needs a little bit more, but it's pretty good. The extra power is amazing, and it is so nicer to drive.

I've got a few issues that arose from when we were putting the car back together though, that I'll have to sort out. Power windows don't work, the door ajar warning doesn't work so it has heaps of flashing lights, central locking stopped working, and my climate control only directs air to the demister. We connected up a vacuum line after we cruised to Pier 35, but it must have come loose again, so tomorrow (I should say today) will be great fun trying to get everything working.

Dezza has an EA s pac manuel ECU. It worked great in my car and I know that that isnt the reason for all the flashing lights. Well it shouldn't be

LOL at Steve's driving. 14's would be great. I never ran the auto down the quarter but the manual would be heaps quicker. The power difference is massive.

The problem with the flashing lights, power windows, central locking, etc. was a ground not being connected. John_XR6 fixed it today, so it is all sorted. I'm a very happy man at the moment.
