Ok fingers crossed, it looks we have a venue sorted for Parkes.
I won't spill the beans just yet, just waiting on confirmation which hopefully will be very soon. |

I agree. Dinner and such were good fun (not to mention the dustbowl, I hear) but we do need those that put their names down to actually show....around 40 on the list last year! : |

Is there anyone in the Parkes area that can check out possible venues?
1) In case the proposed venue falls through or 2) If Guardian isn't able to organise a venue with a fellow club or 3) If we don't hear from Guardian at all I'm doing what I can to suss things out to make this happen but being 5 hours away makes it a bit hard to do it hands on/face to face. I suppose the worst case scenario is we all rock up there and then find a place to park but we won't get the public exposure then Any ideas, suggestions?? As it looks now, if we go with the proposed venue (awaiting confirmation) the plus side is we won't have to pay for hire of the venue and public liability insurance a total which I think was around $400+ last year. Which means the entrant fees can go on trophies, prizes and promotional costs. If Daniel can organise a venue and bring in the Central West Car Club (like last year) the entrant fees goes towards the council fees and insurance needed. Minimum car entries needed..20 Thoughts anyone????? |

Hey Ron, have added you to the attendee list. Will be good to catch up again. We're waiting on confirmation of the venue, which should be this week. Once that's confirmed we can go ahead and book the accommodation, whatever everyone decides on.
Once the go ahead is given for the venue then we'll organise entry forms and deposits for the accommodation. |

Awesome, what's even better is the alcopops tax should be done and dusted by then so cans of Bundy should be that much cheaper! FTW!

Just an update....
Parkes Motor Meet is definitely going ahead on the 27th September I have been assured that we will 100% for sure, have a venue. Most likely it will be at the park where it was held last year or perhaps at the football oval. I've just spoken with Guardian and he's coordinating what he can, and Parkes Visitors Centre are helping with coordination too. As always we will need to rely on entry fees to fund the event, such as insurance, grounds hire, trophies etc. Which means we need to rely on you guys posting your entry forms and payments asap. It's up to you guys to make this event happen. Entry form and payment details will be available shortly. We don't want a repeat of last year of over 40 cars eager to attend and less than half actually followed through. The Coachman has been booked for 25 people for dinner Saturday night, this number can be changed as needed. 10 Double rooms at the Coachman have been tentatively booked, again these numbers can be changed. |

There will also be a BBQ held after the show at the Bushmans Dam, Kelly Reserve.:
We have 2 BBQ's booked, plenty of parking etc. Everybody just bring a fold up chair which most of us will have with us anyways. As it gets closer we can organise a list of who's attending and work out food and drinks etc. |

There's been an unavoidable change of plans.
Today I was made aware that the Central West Car Club have already made arrangements to incorporate our show with theirs. We're very thankful CWCC have done this as this now allows us to be part of one of the largest car shows in the central west and will have a much larger display whilst still enabling us to keep the B-Series Parkes Motor Meet theme going with our own display and trophies etc. The date is now the Saturday the 17th October. Followed on Sunday by a big swap meet. Entry forms and a flyer will be available to download from the B-Series website within the next few days. I will contact the Coachman and relevant parties and advise of the change of dates. |
