Interesting indeed, cheers for the pics... HSV is obviously in a tough position to justify its pricetag considering the lowly Berlina V8 is a 270 kW monstrosity, and the styling seems a bit more subtle than we've come to expect.

And they had better get over this E series thing, it is all a rip-off of Ford's one-off T Series and now they are getting on our nerves.

They have angered the E series owners of Australia, this should be good

Someone write to Holden/drive.com.au and point this out, also some newspapers.

Let's not forget the E series Holdens (including the EH) are being insulted too.

Gary, I might draft a letter to drive tonight. Great idea.

The issue is not the coincidental use of our name, but the fact that they are playing their old trick of using marketing BS rather than putting some effort into the product. It just happens to hit closer to home. Go back to the late VR in 1994 and HSV was much more than a 10% power increase and a set of tail lamps. They were doing 215 kW (vs the 165 kW SS) beasts with neat tricks like Hydratrak diffs. And they were still called VR, true to what they actually were.

Today, it seems the Commodore SS-V is amply powerful, and HSV is scared to push past the 300 kW mark for fear of political backlash. So they seem to be relying on "bad-*** image" BS to try and justify their price tags. That's my impression anyway.

Thats what happens when GM makes a car that is going to shipped all over the world and more likely to appeal to Euro's and yanks than aussies...

It just doesn't look to be built for Australian roads...

It'll probally get massive damage on its first pot hole... Either that or fall apart.

Those SOB's, they can't think of anything original and have to steal from ford 18 years ago...

On a lighter note, will my bro's HSV E-series wheels fit my Falcon E-series, or do I need adaptors???

You need adaptors, cos they are to fully sick to fit without them.
