Finally mention of the overboost on the 6T. Funny the torque numbers are still a little weird that they are quoting peak on the 6T...

Actually, assuming the Chinese Taurus put out in a proportionate fashion to its looks, I would do it.
But really, (rider- 3 wines and day off tomorrow as worked all last weekend and chilled out with no stress ) working a Miami or T6 in front of the grey masses is a bit like sitting on the beach working an incredibly voracious and voluble member of your preferred sexual attraction and neither of you give a hoot about the tut tutting of the grey masses. Who cares (up to a point ) what the voracious and voluble member of your preferred sexual attraction looks like- its all in the action right? And I am probably writing this cause on the commute home today I variously had expressed my way pursed thin lips from one lady, and a number of smiles and smirks from guys who tempted the beast.

Hey Asagaai
I must admit I was having a bit of laugh about it. Sorry but I have done itself and it probably won't be the last time that I do it. Its just is what it is! Enjoy your night, Brent

So i got the email from FORD AUSTRALIA with stage 1 of the build process already for my XR8 sprint today (your vehicle isn't in stock, but we're getting ready to build one, just for you) ...has anyone else got this yet, and does anyone know how long it takes normally for them to start building the car. TBH i'm hoping for a reasonable amount of time for it to be built so i can have a chance of selling my FG first (then they can hurry up and built it )...even though all reports/dealer bulletins stated the month of MAY will be the first month of deliveries of sprints ?

Production starts in May, with deliveries from June.
Your dealer should be able to tell you when you car is being built. I got that same letter too.

AUS GRUNT; I'm in the same boat. Need a bit of time to sell the G6ET.
Probably end up giving it away coz second hand versions ain't pulling top dollar, despite that fact that the car is immaculate and with low mileage. I hope our cars end up with enthusiasts that will appreciate what they are. Enjoy your beast when it finally arrives. |

G6 didn't shed the trade-in stigma that the Ghia had? I've owned three Ghias and boy did they take a bath on resale value despite them being a great car.
The current G6ET IMO is probably the best looking front end of the FGX IMO, it just has a problem with the grandpa colours it comes out in. |

Colour Choice on the whole FGX Range is poor unfortunately....... G6ET is a fantastic car.... Shame the stigma of Ford/Holden being of poor build quality (Which may have been true in the early 90's) has stuck so strongly....

Hot-32 degrees, and along bar beach a police van is behind me, and then tails me up and over the Hill and as we are about to go past King Edward, on go his lights. I think- I was not speeding, I actually stopped at the give way because of the police car on my bum, my car is standard aside from intercooler, WTF. I look in the rear vision and there are some 3 police in the van. Guys walks up, and says "you are the guy who said he was drinking wine last night on the Ford Forum last night and was writing ******. I read your post-I was on the Forum last night" saying all this with a big beaming smile. Anyway, he then breath analysed me (nil) and we all had a good laugh about it. To the fellow forum member that pulled me over-aside from my initial heart attack, thanks for the laugh.

I was talking to a AC contractor today who has always got his work utes (and i mean uteS, he owns the company) from Ford and he can't get an ecolpi ute until July as they will have to build one for him. He got a Ranger instead.
No FGX ecolpi sedans other than one at Bayford and they want quite a premium for it as other dealerships are also asking them for it. Oh well we'll just hold on to out FGII ecolpi then. Will be sought after car in years to come the FGX Ecolpi of any variant. |

Today was a first.
After 9 months of ownership and being used to getting side glances at the XR8 from guys, today walking from my car in the workplace underground car park generally used by workers, a lady approaches me and says "I love your car" and when I respond and say its all the engine she gushes about how its perfect in looks and she loves the colour etc. Who would have guessed that some ladies like these vehicles.
