That is ИИИИing awsome!! Very clever, well done Dellboy.
I assume this cannot be done to ef-el's because the difference in headlight size? It would look horn if you could just bolt in BA headlights into a EF-EL and have the XR style double scoops hapenning, just pure HORN!! |

If I hadn't of seen it done, there is no way I would have attempted it.
The size difference between the BA and ED headlights is huge. Anyway, this is mine. Took me about 3 hours per headlight over 2 days. The glass on the passenger side is a bit yellowed and needs to be replaced. Thanks for the idea and pic's EA2BA. |

At the moment it's not adjustable, I need to work out how to plastic weld the adjustment knobs onto the BA reflectors. I used a hot glue gun to hold the black reflector surrounds in place. Quote:
Thanks, what a huge job.. Like I said in my other post, if I hadn't of already seen it done, I would not have even tried after seeing the size/shape difference between them. But the effort was worth it. I have put together a basic "HOWTO" BA to EA/B/DHeadlight hack. For anyone thinking of doing this, please use this as a guide ONLY. |

I pretty much just cut the bottom off mine on the big one to get it to fit right, I also have a bolt through the middle of the ba insert down the bottom and that goes out the back of the ea headlight to allow me to push/pull in the bottom half of the headlight, i found some of the standard ea adjust points then lined up/pushed on the ba headlight and gives me some further adjustment. Overall I reckong they look cool

In one way Dellboy you would probably be ticked that everyone is copying your idea but in another its bloody great to think that everyone wants lights like yours.Great effort.
Bubba great "how to guide".

Yeah it looks good but why? Brand new complete headlights are regularly for sale on e-bay for $33 each plus shipping. Considering a lens only from my local Ford dealer is $145. I say again it looks great but it only takes a rock and all that hard work......

A, because i can and B, because it looks good... some of us like customising things.....others drive around in stockers that are the same as everybody elses..... if mine get trashed in an accident / a rock goes through them / whatever, i'll simply make them up again |

In reality, how often does a rock or stone go through a headlight lense? Sure they occasionally get chipped or cracked but to go through one is a pretty decent sized object or one that had a lot of speed. If one did I'd be thanking my lucky stars it went through a headlight and not the windscreen. The only things that go through headlights usually are cars in front of you.
