Also, doesn't matter that they don't have someone in QLD to fit them mate. Ask around on here and other forums to get some insight into a good suspension workshop in your area and then speak to Brett. In my case I went to a shop he hadn't dealt with before, so Brett gave them a call to talk about the install and some things they like done during fitting. Brett had a positive experience dealing with the workshop and so did I (Brett, I'll email you with a proper write up/impressions soon I promise). But then again my rims weigh nothing compared to the stockers and I'm running 18" rubber with a larger profile.

Is there any news on a Brisbane installer? I will ordering my coilovers in the next 6 months and would prefer somebody familiar with the product to install them.

My understanding is that they come preset from shockworks, and therefore installation is no different to removing front struts and putting them back in - rear is even easier. You only need an 18mm socket, 17mm socket, 18mm ring spanner, 21mm ring spanner, and an 8mm spanner and you have all the tools you need to remove/install front and rear.

Brett recommended Ken from Accurate Suspension in Woodridge. Did a good job with the install, just mind that he's the only person in the workshop so give him good notice and will require an afternoon to install.

Can the standard ride height be maintained?
I have a FG MKII FPV F6 and don't want to lower it but just to handle a bit better. I also have a whiteline front and rear sway bar kit with adjustable link pins to put in |

Shockworks sounds like on the full soft they should provide a better ride (more along the lines of a Grand Tourer) but can be wound up on a needs basis for a more engaging drive as and when required. There are a lot of great reports I've read for BA's/FG's etc, and would expect the same for the FGX-XR8 but would be nice to hear from someone that has fitted them first hand. |

Brett
Can you please send me a PM with pricing for a set for my new GTF? I am in Perth. Can you please set them up for firmish street driving. Car will be mainly street driven, might see the occasional drags and even more occasional twisty track work. I should add that I will be running 20 x 8.5, 245's on the front and 20x10.5, 275's on the rear. Do you sell/recommend any other suspension parts - bushes/sway bars etc? thanks in advance Simon Last edited by Buttnekid; 16-09-2014 at 04:46 PM. |

Can I just say that I have become increasingly disillusioned with customer service (or the non-existence of it) in Australia over the past decade..... until today. I would like to give a massive massive acknowledgment to both Brett at Shockworks and Tom at Malaga Suspension Centre.
They have gone above and beyond to set up my GTF. Restored some faith in the service industry in Australia!!! I cannot recommend these two businesses highly enough to anyone wanting coilovers or suspension work done in WA. Thanks guys! |

We like to run the car around the 355mm from hub to guard. we find this to be better height for normal daily driving and better for driveways. We also find it a good compromise between the ride and handling. Cheers Brett |

Thanks Brett, I am happy with were its sitting now,you had it set at 350 front and 357 rear, so I just took the back down 7mm.
I was just making sure they were sitting in there right place.Lee did say he rang you so I thought everything would be ok. I havnt had much of a drive yet, but they feel really good. I will get a wheel alighnment tomorrow and go for a good drive on the weekend. Cheers Shaine.

I just bought a set of these 2nd hand - having had XYZ's for the last couple of years bolting these in is just something else again.
Don't get me wrong, for the $1200 i paid for the XYZ's they have done a decent job in the last couple of years but this Shockworks setup is definitely worth the extra coin. The car feels a lot more compliant; the rough roads around here are insanely different to drive on (not bad considering I have 30 profile tyres on 20in rims); the car is a lot nicer on turn in; less tendency to understeer - it's simply become an absolute pleasure to drive. wish i had bought them new. I've been missing out!

Hey Pyrex,
I am sorry but the Ford ute adjustable kit is now $2000. We held on to the original price until September last year. We had to make the increase on the price due to our Aussie dollar falling so far in the last two years. Best regards Brett Last edited by Shockworks; 16-02-2016 at 01:02 PM. Reason: Missed word |
