Default New "Cobra" coupe

Lets see your a car manufacturer with an all new model onthe way. You have a 2 door in your current range about to be phased out and sales have slowed so you have to move them.

You could put outa "limited edition" model, with all the goodies, 2 Fat wide stripes going over the car, and give each car individual numbered badge.

You could call it Falcon Cobra and get rid of your XC 1978 falcon 2 doors.

OR
You could call it HSV GTO LE in 2006. Good to see Holden have finished rehashing their old cars (Sandman, torana, effijy etc) and are now rehashing old Fords. Maybe the VE is really just an XY reworked?

When are holden gunna do something new and original? Sick of all this "old is new " crap from them.

Do you have a think about what you wite before you hit the submit button?

What you have written is rubbish. Fat stripes on cars are not exclusive to Ford. They are a styling tool, which the manufacturer hopes will conjure images of speed or race inspired........

You need to stop rubbishing Holden/HSV just for the sake of it and spend your energies on extroling the good virtues of Ford.

You have a valid point.

manufacturers have been rehashing old ideas for the last few years. The Ford GT looks almost exactly like the old GT40, the new Mustang is basically a '65 fastback for the new millenium, Porsche has been rehashing the 911 forever, The Rolls Royce Phantom takes numerous cues from the old Rollers, the new Mini and Beetle look very similar to the old ones, and the new Jaguar XJ may be made from alluminium this time, but it looks almost exactly the same as the previous model.

: What I'm trying to say is 'retro' design is not just used by Holden, and Ford wasn't the first to throw some stripes on a car. So don't get too upset about it, ok? You'll give yourself an ulcer. _2:

Personally, i'm not a huge fan of the Monaro, and the version with the nostrils on the bonnet was horrible, but I reckon this one looks tough as nails, and its about time HSV discovered that theres more to alloy wheel design than 5 spokes.

Who cares, good on them. Ford use to have the S pack in the XD's now holden has the S and SS. Shakers use to be on XY GT's now they are on BA/BF GT's and every other car. Ghia use to be the top of the range in small wheelbased Fords, now there is Fairlane Ghia. There use to be only 3 main types - Falcon 500, Fairmont, GT in the 70's (the odd other ones like John Goss, based on Falcon500 etc) Now we have so many types - XT, Futura, XR6,XR6T, XR8, Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane Ghia, Fairlane G8, LTD.
Ford has good qualities and Holden has good qualities, if they both made 1 car together it would be a bloddy awesome car.

And then have a monopoly on the Large sedan market? It's the competition between these two manufacturers that give us a good car. I've always said that the Commodore is the excellent car that makes the Falcon even better.

If it gets rid of unwanted stock then you'd be a moron not to do it. It's all about selling cars isnt it??
