Direct from the battery, through either a fuse or circuit breaker, depending on what you are running off it.

run a line from the battery through the firewall with a switch inline and a circuit breaker or fuse like smally said.
on the drivers side is the easiest route as teh batter is on that side as is a hole you can thread it through.

be careful with adapters, if your drawing too much power through the cigarette lighter, then you'll blow its fuse.

not the volts you have to worry about....it's the amount of amps drawn.
cigarette lighter fuse is only 10amps IIRC

The mobile phone power plug located next to the body module is a good source of power.

Fuse #21 is blank in my book (no fuse in it) .. unless it is a passenger side airbag (which i don't have anyway).

It's not the airbag fuse I think it was the satnav fuse (which obviously most of us don't have) but I'm not sure, I'd have to take a look-see tonight. It was definitely not connected to anything cause I had to hook it up through the loom (I have dual airbags).

There used to be an option for a second power source on AU's. Heres where it goes.
