Yea, but the Bloody Video Ref has a replay to go by, and he still gets it wrong. So, yes, I could do his job better.

It's disappointing to see those decisions made when they are blatantly obvious during the replay...but yet in the instance it would be hard in real time. I thought the 1st penalty against Slater near the start was the worst...wasnt a strip at all

Was well played by Brisbane though and Webke went out in style. Speaking of him, who else thinks he's built like a bloody rubix cube with arms and legs? lol

There are bad decisions and then there are consistent bad decisions. Meh I can only remember 2 of them. Too wasted!

Mate, your being stupid. To be a video ref, you need to be a ref in the first instance, and I'm not cut out to being a ref. I can play the game, but that's it. But if I was able to get placed straight in the chair, along with the rest of the viewers, the RIGHT decision would have been made.

Tonights game and the effort of the refs doesnt really do much for promotion of the code here in Victoria. And I bet if the shoe had been on the other foot you would have been among the first to b!tch and moan about it MO

I sat down with my old man who played for the Bulldogs in the 70's and then was there physical trainer then went on to ref until the early 80's and he can't believe the blantant mistakes by the refs.
1) the shephard
2) the disallowed try (if any doubt who it came off the rule state that the decission go's to the attacking team)
3) The play of the ball after the penlity, where the brisbane player did not tap the ball into play. (called the player back to take it again. Should have been a pack scrum Melboune feed)
4) the pass
5) all the BS holding that was going on from both sides.

I love the game but it is hard to watch when the results are driven by the men controlling the game.

For the record I am a Bulldogs supporter.

Hehe I find this pretty funny considering how often QLD teams and indeed the Broncos constantly cop bullshit ref calls in an clearly NSW-biased game... apparently the shoe is now on the other foot.

Maybe the NRL hates Melbourne more than Brisbane :

Wrong I would've said exactly the same...you see I try to see it from the refs viewpoint...what he see's is what he goes by..right or wrong.

It's like being a cop...damned if you do and damned if you don't.

You're having a good enough go at the refs but you can't even get your own calls right :P

Ye well its pretty difficult to see it from their point when every man and his dog sees it the first time and yet the video ref cant see it no matter how many times he is shown the footage, poor effort no matter what they get paid even though it is more than they are worth :thebirds:

No you are. Ref's are paid good money to make the correct decisions on the football field. If they can't do that properly, they should be subject to the same scrutinity the players are put under.

I still don't know how the referee missed the shepherd of Brisbane. It was pretty obvious. Not only that he then made a call against Melbourne a few seconds later. Or have I got the teams mixed up? Too much beer :

But it's the Ref's job to see what's happening in the field. Same as a police-officer, if a copper makes a bad mistake or fails to follow procedure (please correct me if I'm wrong any coppers, love you all), there is a penalty or reprimand.

Well done to Brisbane, played hard and well. Melbourne dropped the ball a bit, played a little sloppy but had a rough time by the ref. The win to Brisbane is well deserved but tarnished by horrible reffing.

can't agree more. i'm a big broncs fan but the way it happened has not made it a grand final game. i actually don't feel that proud about the broncos win.
