yeah an EL xr8, nah im referring to the actual top rubber bits .. or something i read about some dude that replaced them on his AU's. cos up the top of my shock tower i have a real annoying groinching noise and ford told me it the part that the struts mount to or something.. not that i hold thier word as gospel. But theres nothing else that high up on the car in that region.

ok, you have struts, now they have shock rubbers, and a top spring rubber mount. Thats about it.

So you actually want some new front shock mount rubbers, a bit tricky to replace without sping compressors too.

Or balljoints

I had the weird creeking sound from mine before I lowered it, once I replaced springs / struts etc I still had it.

Turned out to be balljoints in the end.

what RRP on the rubbers ?

and also the ball joints if thats the case ? how can u chack or find out theyre stuffed ? what did it cost u honer ?

Pedders didnt pick up either of those in thier supposed safety check..
something about some bushes causing it .. but i know 100% its not them. i know they are worn, but they arnt the problem..

I had a similar problem thinking it was the rubber bit, turned out the clunking noise was a loose caliper.
