Had a look at mine yesterday.
It works (picks up channels) and was watchable but snowy.
I think the supplied aerial is a bit average and we were in the shed so not the best environment.

I'm thinking that the amp has an issue...

I'll find somewhere that can test it for me and take it from there.

Actually it's me that's got the issue.

Embarrassing as it is to admit, when I changed aerpro adaptors I didn't reconnect the mids <hangs head in shame>

Well that only took 20 hours to sort out, lol.

Yeah, there's a thread around somewhere with our most embarrassing faux pas.

That's my best effort for a while. In my defence I will say that the wires from the crossovers were attached correctly and went up under the dash where they are supposed to. Unfortunately they were'nt connected to anything from there.

Oh well, have a chuckle at my expense... I deserve it ;)

Just thought I'd update my part of this thread (and also to let blackers know that we're waiting for pics of his surround, lol).

I decided to replace the Eonon E838 with a JVC KD-BT1 head unit.

Reasons are as follows:-
E838 has way too many functions and touchscreen was getting old after just a few days (basically all I want is volume up and down).
Sound quality was not up to the standard of my previous hu and I missed good sq (E838 sq is fine as far as it goes. It at least equals stock sound but I've been spoilt by better than stock).

New JVC has good sq, has bluetooth, has sub out, has usb (I bought 3 x 2GB flash drives @ $16ea) and I also bought a cat09 and now have my steering wheel controls back.

All fitted up today but still got to make a surround, lol.

My daughter is happy with the prospect of a touchscreen in her car... win/win

but mine has no surround on it (due to the crap shape of the AU dash) and some of the plastic parts that the surround clips to are very flimsy and it rattles on some roads and during acceleration due to my loud exhaust

but for the $110 i paid its great
I got the screen i was after... $91.00 2nd hand but totally unused... :

Now for the install... i'm wanting to do something special here, so am doing plenty of R&D before i start cutting everything up... i'll have to make a list of questions i have just so i know what i've covered :P
