grab a dremel, remove your head, and go nuts at the intake chambers.

How big is this piggybank of yours?

Extractors - about $400

Cam - about $120 for reground one from Wade (plus fitting, shims etc if required)

3.45/3.7/3.9/4.11 LSD - about $500-1100 depending whether its used/rebuilt and what gears are in it.

5 Speed Conversion - roughly $1500 and the car will be a lot more responsive and fun to drive espicially with LSD fitted

Thermofans - from EF/EL are apparently better than EA ones, i got no idea there though never owned an EA.

Cold Air Intake - Homemade designs usually work alright just modify the airbox with new snorkel/intakes to get more air flowing as long as its not hot engine bay air.

And finally use the SEARCH button!

Just to clear that up, I think you mean EF/EL ones are better than AU ones, as EA-ED didn't have thermofans.

You have to mount the AU thermofans upside down for some reason.

ea- ed have clutch fans, people put in ef/el thermo fans as they dont run off the motor like clutch fans do and therefore in theory make the engine more responsive with less strain from pushing the clutch fan around.
hope that makes some kinda sence!!!!

would a thermo fan actually give any performance gain.
or is the clutch fan only like a 0.5% drain on engine?

Removing clutch fan I doubt will make an impact on the rwkws, but will make the pickup and response better. $220 I beleive should get you covered with a 2nd hand AU thermofan setup, dont ask me how it goes in haha

I'd start with extractors
And maybe a K+N filter, and larger snorkel? I hear the XH snorkle setups are good for EA-ED's

(That way you will get the basic parts of engine flow figured out).

Keep in mind the snorkel suits an MPFI airbox ;)

another advantage of thermos is you dont get that loud fan noise of air been pushed around when you jump on the loud pedal! man i hate that sound!! also as mentioned ef/el ones are better to use as they fit better, about $150 for the fans.
filters i hear are good to have but dont do much, as for the XH snorkel, i just fitted my XH snorkel but i havent given it a good testing yet! couldnt imagine it'd given you heaps of power either. i think the k&n filters and the XH snorkel just give you better throttle response, same goes for the thermos.
