I am absolutely spewing, as I have just finished an almost complete rebuild of the wife's XR8 Rebel and went for a long drive today and promptly put the nose through someone's tow ball after some drongo took off at the lights and then suddenly hit the brakes half-way through!
My fault – shouldn't have pulled up so close behind him at the lights. Can anyone help? It will be an insurance job, so I can pay market price for a good one. I'm in Perth but I can probably arrange a pick-up and shipping inter-state. Ideally I also need the air deflector that goes underneath the front spoiler, too, as I lost mine. This was the car on Sunday: And this is the front end today. I've been told it can't be repaired:

Send me a PM and ill give you a friend of mines number, He is a Bumper re-conditioner and plastic repairer with 40 years experience, i have seen him repair worse.
RAC send him HSV and FPV stuff to repair, I watch him repair stuff I would throw away every day at work. |

As above - Joondalup Smash repairs repaired my front end (AU2 XR8) via insurance claim following someone reversing into front end - way worse than the above.
I would say the above friend would have plasti welded - result back to brand new. PPS - tried sourcing new/second hand front end ten years ago - result - trying to find hens teeth. Good luck though. |

I also realised the damage is behind the number plate, so once fixed it will probably be hidden anyway.

Sweet, so it looks like I can get this fixed. But if anyone still has a nose cone in good nick they want to sell, I might just buy it as a bloody spare!
I can't believe how hard it is to find AU parts now. I mean, they're not that old . . . Were they really that unpopular? I love AUs. Fark, I'd buy more if I could. Not sure where to put them next to all the Valiants, though, LOL!

Glad to hear you're getting the bumper fixed easily enough. Rich

So thanks to @prktkljokr I found a top bloke to fix the front end and the old girl is back to being restored to her former glory. Hopefully won't be too much longer. Thanks for everyone's help – much appreciated and makes me feel a little better (but not much!) about what I did. Still kicking myself . . .
