Default LS wipers

I've been putting up with chattering wipers on my Zetec but because it hasnt rained much it hasnt been a prob. Got them fixed the other day at highway Ford Cranbourne - can highly recommend this service dept... Turns out replacing the rubbers is no cure - the arms need to be bent to put more pressure on the glass.

mine has 2 sets of new rubbers put on and the glass was cleaned several times without change.

the team leader there said changing the wiper assy is not the answer either so they bent the arm and bingo problem solved.

All this for $24...

Speaking of wipers on the focus. I think my rear wiper is possessed!! Seriously, it has amind of its own once I turn it own. Last night, the car had been parked outside and got some rain on it. I turned on the front wipers to clear it off and the back wiper decided it was time to have a go and wiped the rear window about 8 times before it stopped by itself.

I read a small car review in the Drive section of the SMH last month where the pitted the Coralla against other similar sized cars, the focus included. In the review they mentioned they couldn't work out what the rear wiper was doing. I've got an 05 LS Zetec, anyone else had issues??

If you have the front wipers on, putting your car in reverse will activate the rear wiper. Pretty cool I reckon.

If you have an auto, the rear wiper may have been triggered on the way through to drive if you believe you never 'selected' reverse.

The review in Drive was a very ignorant, bordering on venomous review by a complete farkwit.

Didn't realise that was a feature of the car. We haven't had a lot of rain in Sydney until recently so it wasn't something that I ever took notice off.

It is also a feature of the LR model (well at least the Zetec). Love it.

cool. i never knew that.

I like how when you use the windscreen washer. it gives the screen an extra wipe after a few seconds just to clean up any drips.
