Hi all,
I have only recently joined the forum. The main reason being,my girlfriend has recently acquired a 1993 nc fairlane. It's stock at the moment but she wont leave it that way for long.
I have no history of working with Fords, so I thought I would come here and get some tips, advice etc.
We were wondering if it's possible to fit a '93 LTD grille to the Fairlane, and what's the best way to go about lowering the car-do you need to remove the self levelling suspension or not?
Apologies for asking what may seem like dumb questions but as I said.. this is my first Ford (to work on) so please bare with me.
Great Forum
Cheers, Mitch

Intend to fully zorst her up and am looking into the different brand and sounds of the exhausts out there. Would love to hear some of the set ups you guys have.

Hey everyone,

I've been a long term admirer of old fords, and just scraped my way into purchasing a 65 XP Deluxe 200. Have come from a VW background (aircooled) so used to working with rusty steel but now I have something real special!

gday people i have never been a ford fan untill i swapped my datto 120y for something with a bit more grunt , i have the dirtyest (not in a good way ) ea falcon ive seen in tassie, i do enjoy it the 3.9 is a stong motor not the best from what ive hurd, im having lots of little problem with it trying to fix them all bit by bit then it will be a monser oneday, so currently i have a problem witht the indicators, they only work if i hold the hazard light switch down (the hazard lights dont work...) the idicator will flash, if i let go it vibrates lick hell! ive re-done the interior it has 8"x14" 12 slotters on it lowered to buggery, but the motor it's slef is really good, but seems to use a bit too much fuel, could the pod filter cause that? i feel i will be posting on here alot! cheers, alex. m

Hi all,

Im JD, just got myself a ford. BF MkII, previous car to this was a VTII Berlina, previous to that was a EL Flacon GLi and previous to that was a Toyota Cressida Grande.

So thats my car history!

No upgrades to my Toyota before i wrote it off

Upgraded EF stereo, put in nex 6" front and back, new head unit and a sub/amp. ALso installed a set of driving lights on it. Sold this

Put a new head unit in the Berlina, also attempted a CLimate control illumination change, designed for bulbs not leds, so i tried to fit about 20 leds strategically for best lighting, got it all working but broke the outside casing. Bought a new one, didnt touch it :P. Sold this car recently.

Just got my new falcon and loving it, although there are a few things id like to do to it... hmmmm

I'm a car and then a Ford freak from way back and besides the original unrestored Cobra I've owned for about 31 years (about 88K original on the clock and was once my daily driver)I still own my first new Ford a XB GS 4 speed V8 Station wagon (drove it in the shed 26 years ago and hasn't been out since but in the next couple of months it will) and have another restored XC GXL V8 Coupe, an F350 Dually with a big block 460 (tow vehicle), a bigblock AC cobra of my owndesign under construction and a couple of Mercs including a V12 (see the picture forming) a couple of Porshes including a near mint 928 S4 (V8 of course which I've had for about 17 years) Over the years I've had most including Ferrari, DeTomaso, Jags naturall Gt's XR & XY, even a show winning restored XP coupe but still love the old Fords cause you can sort of work on them and I have lots of accumulated bits and a bit of fading knowledge and skills. I got the Cobra out of the shed after about 10 years off the road last week end and just took it for a drive, but wasn't happy about the parking effort so time to check out the pump.
Sorry to bore you all but I still love to play with cars and engineering, not as much as once, but ocassionaly I still get the urge.
Keep up the good work and now I know you are here I might even be able to help someone else out. Cheers

Hi all,

Can any one provide me with some advice on the following?
I have an 03 BA wagon 6 cylinder and have just changed the cat converter assembly with an after market unit. Is it necessary to also install the original shrouds which were on the original factory cat converter onto the new after market unit?

Cheers,

Hi ho everyone. Finally got my account activated. I have happily switched from the "red pill" to the "blue pill" 6 months ago. I own a 03/03 WINTER WHITE BA XR8 AUTO with 97000km, had 89500 when I bought it. I had rear cradle bushes replaced by Mediecke Ford just after I bought it. The January this year tye factory radiator tanks split so I fitted a 56mm dual pass alloy radiator supplied by TAREE RADIATORS and fitted once again by Mediecke Ford for a nice total of just under 600 supplied and fitted. My XR8ABY (as she's nicknamed) has factory wheels and suspension, with 235/45/17 Rotalla F107 asymetrical tyres.

XR8ABY's most recent addition is a BF GT top hat, vortex spacer and GT t/b which I picked up for 200 delivered with the lower intake and injectors aswell. My plan is to fabricate my own front mount intake using a vmp 66mm t/b. I'll add fotos and further plans for XR8ABY when I get back to my computer.

Don't have any projects at the moment.
My runaround is a BF XR6 ute.
I am very interested in finding a 53-56 RHD Effie and doing something.
